“All my life, I have had a certain idea of about America, that we're a flawed country, but we're fundamentally a force for good in the world, that we defeated Soviet Union, we defeated fascism, we did the Marshall Plan, we did PEPFAR to help people live in Africa. And we make mistakes, Iraq, Vietnam, but they're usually mistakes out of stupidity, naivete and arrogance.

They're not because we're ill-intentioned. What I have seen over the last six weeks is the United States behaving vilely, vilely to our friends in Canada and Mexico, vilely to our friends in Europe. And today was the bottom of the barrel, vilely to a man who is defending Western values, at great personal risk to him and his countrymen.

Donald Trump believes in one thing. He believes that might makes right. And, in that, he agrees with Vladimir Putin that they are birds of a feather. And he and Vladimir Putin together are trying to create a world that's safe for gangsters, where ruthless people can thrive. And we saw the product of that effort today in the Oval Office.

And I have — I first started thinking, is it — am I feeling grief? Am I feeling shock, like I'm in a hallucination? But I just think shame, moral shame. It's a moral injury to see the country you love behave in this way.”

It is a shameful, moral injury to see America behave this way – the consequence of the fear, ignorance, and stupidity of those who voted for Trump, who put someone so unfit to be president again in the WH, someone who defends the likes of Putin, someone for whom might makes right, someone who sides with fascist dictators seeking to make the world safe for gangsters, criminals, and fascist thugs like Trump.

TDS on full display! Going to need meds and a padded room soon!

David Brooks with the NYT. :gay: Who gives a fuck.

First, I thi k Zelensky kicking the can down the road, playing games with Rubio and the Treasury Secretary was really poor judgement. The mineral deal was a win/win designed to protect U.S interests and start the peace ball rolling. It was the stwrting block,.not the finish line. Second, Jd Vance spoke out of turn and made the situation worse. He may have been right, but he fed Zelenskys litigation of the deal to the media when he made his poijt to him, he should have just deferred to Trump and kept his remarks more diplomatic. His straight talk is important I just question the forum.and timing though Americans seem to like what he said (probably sick of the costs they have shouldered). Third, I imagine Putin will. announce that for the moment he doesnt believe Ukraine wants peace and he will order a surge in the weakest area of Ukraine costing more lives on both sides. Fourth, Europe is going to have to decide if they want to risk their own security by refusing to properly fund their militaries and manufacturing capacity. Fifth, China is biding their time...

I do agree that China is sitting mostly out of this watching this cluster fuck unfold. Midget Zelly is screwed, just read an article where he said he needs the US/us on board to support him still. He should’ve thought about that before he showed up at the White House and acted like he had any power!

Unfortunately Trump's disgrace reflects on all of US. I am right there with you , trump is a disgusting person that belongs in prison . Putin deserves the same fate for his war crimes against the Ukraine.

If Russia takes 5% more land then Europe will probably feel the need to replace him as leader. America must become fiscally sound, too many damn governments have not cared in the past. Not since Clinton ffs.

Oh please. Those supposed “allies” throw people in jail for criticizing their own government. They all need a kick in the ass to set them straight.

You should talk to a counselor, seriously before you end up in a padded room! 😉

Our European Allies today are not the same freedom loving people they were 80 years ago

I appreciate that Troll Bots are obliged to constantly churn out material but this effort is gross .
It is so blatantly written as propaganda that it feels dirty and slightly obscene .
And I am an outsider .

Not worth commenting on in detail because it is so extreme and therefore silly that its zero worth is immediately apparent .

Put some effort into your work , Celia .
This is embarrassingly poor .

David Brooks with the NYT. :gay: Who gives a fuck.
I was on the NYT forum on Brook's thread; he was a very sensible chap back then(circa 2001) but keeping his job THERE was more important than getting reality right. Last I sw he was blaming Trump for Biden's FAILURES!!! Bloody mad!

So do you think Putin will invade Ukraine after that??? Oh dear me; That was under Obama/Biden and Biden/Harris. How silly of me.

Waaaaaaa! Zelenskyy is a thief and a bloodthirsty dictator. We should be asking when he's going to return our billions upon billions of tax dollars as well as the military equipment he sold on the black market. I know I'll be called "anti-Semitic" for saying this but I despise the little turd.

Jasmine Crockett will eventually kill Jews.

yes, nauseating. Yet the CULTISTS approve of his actions. Speaks volumes of those that voted for him.

Is that what Zelensky is doing? Defending Western values?
