Davenport, Iowa Building Collapsed

100 bucks once a year to make sure you most expensive purchase is not being eaten up from the inside out.

Morons if they do not

Do you live in the middle or on the edges of the Country?

Pretty much in the middle

Then I wouldn't pay $100 for an inspection. There are no Drywoods back here. So the main risk is Subterranean Termites, you can walk around the House yourself and look for the mud tubes they build at the base of the structure.

maybe a mini-September 11 recreated with a r/c airplane?
Or better yet, a Yugo filled with fertilizer and diesel fuel?

Well, termites don't exactly wave a flag at maintenance people. How would they have known that?
I live in the woods and every spring the termites get wings and fly. Luckily, for me, they're feasting on all the wood on my property far away from my house but, I still have the exterminator out every month. Lots of critters like to come in and visit.

Turns out that a concerned citizen called 911 the day before the building collapsed.
