The guy was found not guilty on a technicality. That after he stabbed a 17 year old multiple times, a medic performed a mercy killing.

Wrong. The prosecution got caught breaking the law and they dropped several charges. He was then acquitted by the jury of 6 of the remaining 7 charges. The one he was found guilty on, taking a photo with a corpse, had a sentence of 4 months, which he already served.

President Trump did not pardon him for anything. He did reverse his demotion status, but that is not a pardon.
