On May 18th, 1980 Mt. St. Helens erupted. Weeks before the eruption one expert did warn the people living there to evacuate but some refused to heed the warnings. Knowing they were in harms way they refused the wise counsel offered them and died as a result. All total 57 people were killed but it would have been thousands had not it been for one man David Alexander Johnston, who kept watch at the top of the mountain and warned the people that an eruption was imminent. David Alexander Johnston (December 18, 1949 – May 18, 1980) was an American USGS volcanologist, A principal scientist on the monitoring team, Johnston perished while manning an observation post 6 miles away on the morning of May 18, 1980. He was the first to report the eruption, transmitting "Vancouver! Vancouver! This is it!"
God has watchman on the wall who have been observing the rumblings of God's coming judgment and warning all who will listen that unless we seek the Lord with all our heart, live in obedience to Jesus Christ and keep ourselves from sin, we will perish with the wicked. We need to believe God's Word and dismiss the words of smooth talking prophets who tell us all is well and God isn't holding our sin against us anymore. These false prophets will be punished by God for this, even as the false prophets of Jeremiah's day were punished by God for their deceiving the people. The judgment of God will soon be poured out upon America. Let us prepare ourselves, repent of all sin in our life and determine to live holy and not turn back to the world for one more look (as Lot's wife did). Let us pray for those who are not ready so that their blood will not be on our hands. We are fast approaching a far more catastrophic event than Mt. St. Helens. Those who know the Lord should be sounding the alarm and warning others, Judgment is coming! Repent! You men who preach! Stop thinking about yourselves and how you will look! If no one but God approves of you, you are better off than the man with 10,000 friends! It's time to speak up and warn the people!
See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. - Ephesians 5:15-16

Psalm 104:32
He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke.
The volcano rumbled, then fell silent. Clouds of smoke billowed from its crown, and the people in the towns surrounding it made hasty plans to leave. Experts were assuring people that there was no immediate danger, but when the old mountain began to grumble, the people tended to listen to it rather than the experts. Wisdom being the better part of valor, the neighboring residents departed until the danger was clearly through.
In nature there is mighty destructive power. This world of God's contains forces beyond our wildest dreams. It is wise to respect the forces of nature, and it is wise to respect the forces of our Lord. No one can challenge the Lord as to truth and justice. God wields the true power, and He does so with perfect love and compassion. God has made His desires known to His children. To ignore the rumble is foolishness.
Prayer: Lord, make me an obedient child and a willing follower. Break my willful nature, and help me to see the wisdom of Your ways. Amen.
