Cuban Goes to American Supermarket for the 1st time

No doubt the lack of food products in Cuba has a lot to do with the 60 years of US sanctions.

Old Joe continues those deadly sanctions on all the made up enemies of the empire, just as dumb Don did. Yet another example of how Joe and Don are very much alike.

Scarcity of goods are a trademark of Socialist shitholes. We see it everywhere.

If the Cuban Communists didn't want to get sancations then they shouldn't have been the puppets of the Soviet Union.

Has nothing to do with sanctions. Cuba is free to trade with all kinds of other countries. Their problem is that it is a communist country where the average income is about 50 dollars a month. They have the same climate as DR and the DR only imports about 20% of their food supply, Cuba is the opposite. Modern agriculture is obsolete in Cuba because their is no profit to be made. Government buys the food and stocks the shelves that is why there is no Kroger or Publix.

PS. China is a communist nation. They have plenty of food. BOOM…there goes your silly argument.

Calling China a "communist nation," is sort of a misnomer at this point.

It is a one-party, dirigistic state, where the party makes unilateral decisions about which industries to nationalize, and which ones to privatize.

It is the first fully functioning technocracy.

True. However their government is communist and has been for a long time.

You will get no argument from me that communism has failed in numerous places. However the OP fails to recognize or even be aware of the harmful affects of US sanctions on Cuba. Secondly, the preponderance of nations in the world follow some form of capitalism. Yet, we have billions of people living in poverty. So, capitalism isn’t all that great.

The claim that Capitalism isn't all that great begs the question...what is better? Capitalism has produced a higher standard of living for billions of people.

There must be something better.

I'd love to hear what that something is then, Gipper! Show me what works better in the real world then free market Capitalism!

I don’t have the answer my son.

The fact that you don't have the answer IS the answer! Or are you too obtuse to grasp that?

Yes. Only your answer is the answer.

I opine is not cosmetic, its real.
huh? :dunno:
I know people fund both parties, but if the republicans have their way there will be only 1 party.
I'm not here to argue your paranoid delusions given to you by government and corporate sponsored propaganda. Folks on the other side believe the same about the DNC.

The fact is, if you folks on both sides don't wake the hell up, all of our grand kids will be living in a global technocracy in the next 50 years or so. . . those are just the facts.

The republicans fought the insurrection and most of the republican senators were in on it.

They want to reinstate Tramp as Potus.

IDK. I took a guy from NYC to a grocery store here in Dixie for the first time and he kind of spazzed out about how big it was and how much stuff they had. I made the mistake of telling him that wasn't even the biggest grocery only store in the city so we had to go there too. And from there, we went to our newly opened Walmart, which, at the time, was one of the largest in the US.

My point is, there are lots of variables. Land around here is comparatively cheap and plentiful so commercial buildings that want a lot of space can generally afford to buy as much as they want.
?? there are plenty of large supermarkets in NYC.
Queens mostly

Most nyc stores are small

The grocery store I used the most sold no fruits or vegetables cause the green grocer was next door

Plus we never stocked up on anything

The Entire Left and the Entire Right Are Two Wings of the HeirHead Vulture

Marxism is Capitalism, Junior. The Preppy Progressives and Parlor Socialists call their enemies "bourgeois." That is a snob term invented by spoiled-putrid aristocrats who looked down on people who earned their money rather than inherited it.

One of the few times this dangerous insight has been revealed was in the Robert Redford movie Havana. Redford's character asks a Cuban why so many of the Communists were sons of the rich, in particular the one whose wife Redford was in love with. The Cuban answered, "That man's father worked my father to death at an early age. The rich, first they try one way of making our lives miserable, then they try another way."

That all Communism has ever been:: a post-guillotine false-flag method to continue Birth-Class Supremacy by joining democratic movements, taking them over, and turning them into totalitarian tyranny against the people who weren't born rich.

The brats of the rich must be cut off from Daddy's Money at age 18. All of you Netwits who would oppose that are not real Americans. You are not even real men; you are mannequin manservants. A real man would say, and enforce, "If we have to do it on our own, so must the brats of the rich."

I had started a response to this post. . . going on about the Federal Reserve and Corporate Subsidies. . . but then?

They don't ever listen, they don't read the relevant literature, or really even pay attention to the scholarly work about definitions of what things mean, or how things work. Telling them this, again, for the hundredth time? It gets dull, it really does.

It is tiring. I’m still amazed how few Americans see what’s really going on and who is responsible.

Cuban goes to an American Supermarket for the first time. From socialist Cuba where lines are long, products are scarce, and the constant struggle finding basic necessities has become an everyday normality, Yoel sees an American supermarket for the first time leaving the island.

It really sucks!!!
All it would take for Cuba to thrive is to get rid of communism. Unfortunately the leaders of Cuba dont want to release the power they hold over their people.
I'll never understand why a leader of a country like Cuba wouldnt step in and open their country to Capitalism. They would become immediate hero's of the people. I mean look at Cuba before they kicked out the US. It was a thriving nation.
I know I'd visit Cuba if they weren't a communist country. It's a beautiful country with a rich history.
This goes for mexico as well. Unfortunately they are lead by the cartels and the gov lives off the dirty money they provide.

China most certainly does not have plenty of food.
In fact China is the largest importer of food. They can barely feed themselves and they couldnt if they were unable to import food.
If war were to break out China would be fucked. All you'd have to do is blockade the ports and they'd be starving in no time.
