Cuban Goes to American Supermarket for the 1st time

No doubt the lack of food products in Cuba has a lot to do with the 60 years of US sanctions.

Old Joe continues those deadly sanctions on all the made up enemies of the empire, just as dumb Don did. Yet another example of how Joe and Don are very much alike.
Has nothing to do with sanctions. Cuba is free to trade with all kinds of other countries. Their problem is that it is a communist country where the average income is about 50 dollars a month. They have the same climate as DR and the DR only imports about 20% of their food supply, Cuba is the opposite. Modern agriculture is obsolete in Cuba because their is no profit to be made. Government buys the food and stocks the shelves that is why there is no Kroger or Publix.

PS. China is a communist nation. They have plenty of food. BOOM…there goes your silly argument.

Calling China a "communist nation," is sort of a misnomer at this point.

It is a one-party, dirigistic state, where the party makes unilateral decisions about which industries to nationalize, and which ones to privatize.

It is the first fully functioning technocracy.

True. However their government is communist and has been for a long time.

You will get no argument from me that communism has failed in numerous places. However the OP fails to recognize or even be aware of the harmful affects of US sanctions on Cuba. Secondly, the preponderance of nations in the world follow some form of capitalism. Yet, we have billions of people living in poverty. So, capitalism isn’t all that great.

The claim that Capitalism isn't all that great begs the question...what is better? Capitalism has produced a higher standard of living for billions of people.

Its hard that so many people want Communism

IDK. I took a guy from NYC to a grocery store here in Dixie for the first time and he kind of spazzed out about how big it was and how much stuff they had. I made the mistake of telling him that wasn't even the biggest grocery only store in the city so we had to go there too. And from there, we went to our newly opened Walmart, which, at the time, was one of the largest in the US.

My point is, there are lots of variables. Land around here is comparatively cheap and plentiful so commercial buildings that want a lot of space can generally afford to buy as much as they want.
?? there are plenty of large supermarkets in NYC.

You are a commie stooge idiot liar. I already told you other countries can ship food to Cuba. Why doesn't Cuba produce 80% of their own food like the DR?

There is.

It is not in the interest of the international banking cartels, the corruption of the state, or powerful corporate interests, etc. . . . so it never had a chance.

I already gave it.

If the government got rid of the FED, nationalized the currency, got rid of interest, ended the IRS and only taxed the value of natural resource extraction and the value of land, and not the improvements folks make upon the land or the ideas, goods, services, products we make? (as well as our labor?) . . . the economy would be more fair and take off like a rocket.

Folks would be free to both compete, and to COOPERATE, to make us all thrive, and the environment would be more protected in the process. Industries that promoted the least resource extraction, would, in the end, be the most profitable.

It would not surprise me if within a decade or two, new sources of clean energy were found. . . the sky would be the limit.

Financial Elites, Cultural Elites, Ruling Elites? They have no interest in doing what is best for society, the masses or the planet though.
