Howells, 39, says that in the summer of 2013 he accidentally put the hard drive containing his bitcoin wallet in a black bag during an office sort-out and left it in the hall of his house. His then partner is said to have mistaken the bag for rubbish and took it with her on a trip to the dump, where it has been lost ever since.
Every now and then a story comes along that promotes joy. This arsehole is putting the ratepayers of Newport to expense they can ill afford.
I do hope the judge finds against him and also awards costs to the local council. After all crypto is make believe money and he can always print more.
Digging up the local dump is a great metaphor for crypto, the arseholes tender of choice.
