Crazy Baseball Fact Again: Babe Ruth won 1 MVP

One of the myths of Babe Ruth is he had a rapid eye movement or blink
It's not true but it's fun nonetheless

I am a big Babe Ruth fan, but there is only one athlete I can think of who could have beaten the time machine. Sixty years later, Wilt Chamberlain would still be the best player in the NBA (if he was given modern shoes).

Insane, as I thought for sure he won it in 1927. That was the year of Murderers Row. Who won it, Gehrig? Man those Yankee teams were just stacked beyond anything before or since in pro sports.
He wasn't allowed to win it, as he had already won it in 1923, and they didn't allow 2x winners

Another myth is the "called shot". There's been a bunch of new info about that.. and maybe even a photograph of it. Supposedly the Yankees and Cubs were chirping a lot, and when Ruth was up the Cubs dugout was giving him tons of shit. From a poor video source, this was caught:

Some say he was more pointing at the dugout. Others said he pointed higher and told them he was about to hit one out. I think the whole "He stood back and brazenly pointed like a triumphant statue with his bat" narrative is untrue. IMO it was either a point to the dugout or a point towards the fence while jawing with the Cubs.

If he did point at the fence and was saying something akin to "Watch this shit".. and then hit it out.. that still be almost as impressive.
