you multiply 3,218 times five days = 16,090 still quite a few less than your "70,000"... by the way where did you get that number?

I told you this earlier.....increased testing gives you increased cases and thus the NUMBER of severe cases and/or deaths may go up for a day while the overall percentage goes DOWN. You cannot cherrypick a single statistic to freak over. The red states are maintaining critical levels even with increased cases.

That is a misconception, even from earlier when most all hospitals were nearly shut down except for those in the northeast which had many Covid patients. And now hospitals have plenty of availability because severe cases are declining along with mortality rates. Increased cases alone come from increased testing.
