The emphasis on unemployment is absurd. The people not getting labor are the very lowest status jobs you can, and they were all shown how quickly their business can fall apart.

Take people who do nail and hair, they all quit their salons and now do house calls.

All you're seeing is a reorganization of hte economy and people whining about it. No one is going back to mcdonalds or being a waiter in some 10 dollar a plate dump if htey can get 15+ an hour somewhere else. And if you're not increasing wages people will just leave to the next employer.

All these things would be happening in a truly hot economy if we had 0 welfare at all. Covid just sped up the market correction. If you're going to take a minimum wage job it better be real fucking easy and not to embarrassing. Employers are holding out hope people will show up again when this is done. But the resterantuers are probably in for a rude awakening.

Well we just went through a pandemic that shut down the production and distribution of our world. So a little financial stimulus to avoid a depression that would last in excess of 10 years was initiated and recommended by anybody and everybody who understands basic economics.

I guess it all depends on what group gets the free money and services whether it's done by the right or the left these days. You seem to believe that the Right isn't giving billions of free money to the uber rich these days. It's called Corporate Welfare and it appears the workers are starting to refuse to work in the corporate welfare jobs. Meanwhile, you RWers keep saying that they are making too much on unemployment. Most no longer get get those wonderful funds anymore. Here is the reality today for worker competition.

Companies have to treat workers well. No more asshole employers
Many are having to resort to signing bonuses
Many are raising their starting wage to at least 15 bucks.
Many parents have found that they can get by on less and stay home with the children.
There are a lot more points but look for changes at the workers level.
