Could A Woman Ever Be President?

Do You Think That A Woman Could Ever Be President?

It's always this specific group of males with these types of comments. They must have picked this up from observing their moms and thereby think all women behave this way as well.
Or because strong, intelligent women have never given them the time of day... so they don't know much about them.

Well, you see, here is the thing.... a woman CAN be president and I'm sure eventually WILL. Hopefully she will be a better person than Hillary or Kammy. But HERE IS THE PROBLEM:
  1. A president must be strong against opposition both without and within.
  2. A president must be decisive and firm.
  3. A president must carry great leadership skills.
And none of these things are "lady-like."

The ideal woman is kind, gentle, soft and supportive, not bold and aggressive. These are traditionally considered "masculine" qualities.
So besides good integrity and wisdom that neither Harris nor Hillary have, for a woman to be a (good) president), she walks a fine line between being a lady and a good leader.
BS.

There have been female heads of state who had - I hate to say it - "gravitas." Margaret Thatcher, for one.

It is difficult to imagine K. Harris reacting to a face-to-face challenge by V Putin. I'm not sure how she would react, but it would not be pretty.
She would do better than trump. You are a white man, you know nothing about a sister. She will not be as cordial to Putin as Obama was, and Obama and Putin did not get along.

What?

This post makes no sense. Of course a woman could become president. And of course Kamala can, she meets the requirements in the Constitution. The other two could be president too, they won't be statistically because very few people get to be president.

Let me rephrase that then. Could A woman actually do the job well?

Well... you're going to have to defend how a person does the president's job "well", aren't you?

Right now whoever is president is going to have one side of the partisan divide saying "he/she is the worst president ever" and the other side saying "he/she is the best president ever"...

And they know nothing about presidents from the 1800s, for example, to even be able to say this.

Who?

And then kill the babies because they can.

I agree with Kristi and Sarah but I don't know who the rest are.

Who's Rice? The other two I would most definitely vote for though. 😁
You don't know who Condoleeza Rice is? Are you as young as I suspect? :) (early to mid '20s)

Condoleezza "Condi" Rice (/ˌkɒndəˈliːzə/ KON-də-LEE-zə; born November 14, 1954) is an American diplomat and political scientist. She currently directs the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. A member of the Republican Party, she previously served as the 66th United States secretary of state from 2005 to 2009 and as the 19th U.S. national security advisor from 2001 to 2005. Rice was the first female African-American secretary of state and the first woman to serve as national security advisor. Until the election of Barack Obama as president in 2008, Rice and her predecessor, Colin Powell, were the highest-ranking African Americans in the history of the federal executive branch (by virtue of the secretary of state standing fourth in the presidential line of succession). At the time of her appointment as Secretary of State, Rice was the highest-ranking woman in the history of the United States to be in the presidential line of succession.

Yes.. they need to put up good candidates though.

Nikki Haley is a war monger, she wont win or beat JD Vance in 2028, or even Ron DeSantis..

On the left Michelle Obama would probably win if she ever ran, doubt she would though. Gavin Newsom is going to be the one they push to the top.
Harris will be the Democrat nominee. JD Vance is done in 2028.

As a woman myself I have my doubts. I know for a fact that Kamala Harris never could, but I think that Kari Lake and Marjorie Taylor Greene could possibly stand a chance.
She would need to be old enough that her children were grown and out of the house. Mothering is a consuming task, and I don't see anyone being able to tend to that and presidential responsibilities at the same time.

It's possible that a woman who chooses to be childless to do it, but it would be hard, given how divorced she would be from the experiences of the overwhelming majority of Americans.

Yeah, it's just too bad she doesn't want the job. That woman would be a great president.

Actually doing something good for the country.

And how do you define whether something is "good for the country"?

For example, the Iraq War. Good for the country? Lots of people got killed, more got injured and are receiving medical payments from the government for the rest of their lives which will cost the country for decades to come. But some rich people got richer, oil prices went down.

Good for the country?

Or you could take the current border situation. It could be that they let loads of people in, and in 50 years time the US is stronger than it would have been. Or it could be that it's much worse than it would have been.

You won't find out whether such a policy is "good for the country" for 50 years. How do you know?

Then you have the obvious bias of people on different wings who thing this is good and that is bad, because their president did it.

Like the pull out from Afghanistan. Had Trump done it, it'd have been amazing. In fact when Trump handed over 5,000 Taliban which led to the Taliban taking over the country, it was amazing from Trump supporters. When those 5,000 killed US troops at Kabul airport, it was the worst thing ever, simply because Biden happened to be the president dealing with the policy that Trump has put in place.

He has to try because its the only way he can avoid going to prison.
IM2 this topic has come up steadily throughout the year so let's spell out what we believe COULD happen if Trump were to be elected into office again.

1. Whether or not it is legally or Constitutionally allowed, he'll grant himself full immunity for any and all charges filed against him while President and since? (and then force the government et al to fight it out in court whether he acted lawfully or not in granting himself immunity)
2. He'd grant pardons to everyone who was convicted in connection to the January 6th assault of the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to prevent President Joe Biden from being certified as the winner of the 2020 election.
3. They (he & Vance) would begin implementing the things they've outlined in that 2025 manifesto

Trump says he'll be a dictator on day one so what else could happen that they've promised and I just don't remember at the moment?
