LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KFOX14/CBS4) — The New Mexico Office of the Attorney General announced Thursday new charges filed against former Las Cruces police officer accused of murdering a man with a choke hold.
Christopher Smelser, who is accused of killing Antonio Valenzuela, now faces second-degree murder charges.
Smelser was originally charged with manslaughter.

Gotta love the job where you get to kill folks. And the other cops support you to break the law.
The man died at the time. Had no guns, deadly force was illegally used. The other cops should have arrested this cop at the time. BTW: Twice the killer earned "Officer of The Month.
FYI: If a civilian was at a bar, got into a fight. A person dies, the winner goes to jail to start.
