Contributions of Koreans to America

i dont get the racial insecurity of all races. Why does anyone need to be proud of their race. That goes out to white black asian hispanic etc

Some people are so bereft of self-worth that they have no choice but to associate themselves with others who have value through some vague shared trait. They really need to seek therapy and engage in self-esteem building activities.

My question to you in response would be why does every ethnicity get to promote their respective ethnicity and it's called "pride," when if whites do it it's called "racism"?

I don't see ethnicity as any bottom line, but culturally, almost everyone has been brought up to take pride in their ethnicity.

And to me, there's a huge difference between someone being proud of their ethnicity and using ethnicity as a crutch for their own inadequacies. There is a difference between saying I'm proud of my heritage and saying that those of a different heritage are inferior based solely on the fact that their heritage is different. The most pathetic are those whose only claim to fame is the contributions of those they share ethnicity with.

While I agree, the fact remains, it is CLEARLY a legitimate excuse when blacks accuse whites, but racism when whites accuse blacks. It's teh blatantly obvious and completely unacknowledged hypocrisy that gripes my butt.

Racism is racism, not solely whites vs ________.
