Conservatives only: Is our country salvageable?

As long as we can keep Republicans & Trump away from the printing press, everything will continue to improve.

I think we'll be OK in the long run. Despite poor leadership, the U.S. continues to be THE best country in the world. Why do think so many are literally dying to get into our country? So yes, I think we'll be just fine.
We're fucking awesome. That won't change soon.

People dying to get into our country doesnt mean America is the best country in the world.

I have been following news fairly closely, or was until this sick election happened... then not so much

but I still pay attention... so anyhow, i am asking all you conservatives who follow news

Do you think our country is hopeless?

That guy who said that America is great because it is good and when it fails to be good will no longer be great...

yeh... we've arrived at that sad point...
We can pray hard. Nothing is impossible with God. I believe America is a blessed nation, a chosen nation. We do more good for the world than any nation in history. Even though many in America have turned away from God, there are still millions who are devout. And I think those people will be the reason God won't destroy our country or allow it to be taken over by the atheist Marxists. Still, I believe we are in for some rough times, but I don't think we are at the end yet. That's just the feeling I've gotten after praying hard every day for over a year about this.

"The wicked will become entangled in their own traps"

Only with more Governors, and politicians like DeSantis in general, only that way the country can be salvageable.

Otherwise, at this pace, the destruction and annihilation of what once was the great USA .... will be imminent.

No, I think we're headed for split-up. The polity is too large; these giant expanses never last. It's lasted amazingly long as it is; we haven't broken up since 1864, after all. The whole gestalt is bad -- the hopeless division, the weird Leftist determination to take us Communist, the weakness of the government, the constant black rioting, etc.

It’s not just ‘your’ country – it belongs to all of us.

And it’s not salvageable if Republicans continue their efforts to undermine our democratic institutions, hobble the right to vote, and establish the tyranny of Republican minority rule.
Ours can mean 'yours and mine'. Why do you look for conflict? And please tell us again how Republicans 'hobble' the right to vote. Because they won't allow Democrats their cheating tactics?

I think it could go either way, things could get better but things can also go to hell. I will say that i don't like the direction we're going in though, less freedom and more gov't is not appealing to me. Too many people want the good life but don't want to earn it, and too many people won't take responsibility for themselves and their actions and decisions.

But how would we lock the rest of you trumpanzees up?
Just kill them like the Weathermen wanted to. This takeover is run by the same people. They fully expected to execute 25 million. Many of you have shown murder does not bother you in the least.

Your grammar is atrocious; but of course, that is not in any way to be construed as evidence of the decline of American civilization. You're a conservative, you are one of the cool guys!

It is amazing that we are at this point - why might that be?

I began contemplating why we are experiencing so much social discontent twenty years ago, before 9/11. And I pledged to myself that I was going to find the root of the problem and try to solve it.

I have presented the problem and solution several times here, and as it turns out there is another problem - constitutional dogma among the peon class.

I have to figure out how to reach the intellectual and professional class, who should be more inclined to advance my solution. And that will happen, eventually. There have been about a hundred articles, or proclamations, that we are in the midsts of a civil war. Eventually, there has to be a peace treaty. And a peace treaty addresses how we are going to solve the problem - how we are going to make decisions about the approach to domestic tranquility.

You must not be a real American. You seemingly want criminals and mentally ill people on the loose undermining democracy.
I didn't realize he was a Democrat. Those are the only people doing those kinds of things.

There is nothing wrong with the country.
It is conservatism that is the lost cause...well, at least the current iteration of it.
Conservatism hasn't had a successful policy implemented in over four decades.
It's become steeped in religious fervor and now conspiracy theory mongering and worship
of authoritarian rule.

Conservatives need to jettison the religion and the crazy and get back to their roots. It used
to be that conservatives were for helping the little guy. That went out the window a long time
ago.

Well, learned scholar, in my younger days we (USA) hung Traitors, Communists and Socialists. Then we went to Korea and Vietnam and and killed the sonsabitches. American Commies and Socialists are of the same stripe. It would do my old heart good if we were allowed to hunt down and and butcher the filthy bastards.
