Oh, and the only requirement was that you had to have a background in law. There were no "Law Schools" at that time, you actually learned the law as an apprenticeship by studying under a lawyer. In fact, Abraham Lincoln is unusual in his era as he did not even do that. He was entirely self-taught, reading law books from the library. Doctors normally trained the same way, there was no "Education requirement" because there really was no such education in the era the Constitution was drafted. That did not actually really come about until the turn of the 20th century.

I am not mad at Joe’s pick since I have no idea who it will be except for the fact it will be a black woman.

What irritates the hell out of me is why Joe had to announce the race and gender of his nomination. That insinuates that whoever he picks will be based on a quota and may not be equally qualified to others he might have picked. In other words it seems Joe’s decision is PANDERING. If I was his nominee I would consider refusing the nomination becasue I would consider it an insult. I would want to be viewed as equal or better than any other pick Joe might have made.
