Congress was charged with and given the power to declare war. By turning this power over to the executive is no different than giving him (or her) an autopen to deploy the armed forces for whatever reason is deemed necessary. Unchecked power doesn't end up with what you think will result and usually is irreversible. The world is being sided into 2 camps, those that oppose us and those that are toadies. It may be past time that this war can be prevented, but I hope not. Some say that WW3 would last 35 minutes, but the suffering will last 50 years. Proposed war authorization could allow Trump to target 60+ countries

FYI: The 2001 AUMF is still in effect. The War on Terror is very broad and sweeping.

This is an addendum adding drug dealers to the general list of options. From interdiction to war. AND, like the war on migration, will by definition evolve into internal enforcement.

Anyone else notice that we won all 5 wars declared by Congress and have, hmmm, to put this delicately, only defeated the Iraqi Army since then?

Look at Red Sea shipping, still closed. No insurance company will back anything headed to the Red Sea. We sent a carrier group, lobbed a few shells, and departed

Now we’re attacking speed boats from Venezuela

Ridiculous

We keep cheapening our brand

Was you drug delivery delayed because we blew up tow speed boats form Venezuela.

Are you embarrassed that the US Navy is attacking Miami Vice Speed boats?

Why were we not able to keep open shipping to the Red Sea? If the US Navy was so effective, why is shipping through the Red Sea still problematic and WTF are we doing in Venezuela? Maduro is still active AND Venezuela still runs crooked election all over the world
