Confronting Sin in the Church

As I have recently been amazed at the flood of false teaching - much of it new age - on Christian TV - I am wondering if anyone is confronting sin in the church these days. I was attending a church some time ago in which the worship leader was living in sin with a woman in the congregation and was being permitted to even preach from the pulpit on Wednesday nights! I asked the Pastor why he was allowing this and if he realized by doing so he was permitting God's altar to be defiled - which was going to bring judgment on his church. He said they had been doing it that way for the past eight years and would continue to go on for the next eight. I informed him - No, he would not and that I would not be returning to his church but that I knew the LORD wanted me to point it out to him so that there would be no misunderstanding later as to what he knew and what he did not know. Then I left. It was an uncomfortable situation but my obedience is to Christ - not to any man - it matters not what title they have - if they are permitting sin to openly continue in the church - it should be confronted. This evening I found a new sermon by Michael Boldea Jr. which addresses sin in the church and I believe once again this preacher has hit the nail on the head! We’ve become averse to talking about difficult topics. We’ve grown averse to broaching and delving into difficult things, taking a page out of the world’s book and just glossing over them or pretending they do not exist. The more we pretend the worse things get, the worse things get the more callous we become, until a ‘pastor’ giving aids to the parishioners he slept with is half a story at best, and the fact that he refuses to step down from the pulpit is treated with uttermost indifference. It is downright scary how quickly we’ve descended into the mire and how few in the church voice any opposition to it. The sheep are told to know their place, the leadership appropriates powers and indulgences they have no business appropriating, and we hobble along as anything of virtue, anything noble, anything good and wholesome gets dismantled piece by piece by the godless among us.

‘But it’s okay, it really is, we’re on track to meet the budget this year, and break ground on the new building which will outshine the old one, and have a nice shiny cross on its roof that can be seen from space.’

and none of these scriptures prove what you think they prove. Eternal security is a fact. Hundreds of passages in Scripture prove it.

Can a Christian be guilty of Heb. 10:26?
Can a Christian commit such willful sin that he no longer has a sacrifice for sins? The answer is no since Jesus has told us in John 10:27-28 that all to whom He has given eternal life will never perish. Also, 1 John 2:19 says that those who leave the faith were never believers to begin with. So again, Hebrews 10:26 is most probably discussing the issue of the Hebrews who knew full well who Christ was--as well as His work and sacrifice--and yet continued to walk in their sinful and rebellious ways by rejecting the sacrifice that God had provided.

Perhaps somewhere on a subconscious level, many have realized their messages lack power, substance, Christ, repentance, holiness, the cross, and self-denial, and as such have no power to transform anyone. We wander aimlessly about, comforting each other with the tired adage of ‘well get them next time’, or‘we may have lost the battle but not yet the war.’ But why? Why are we losing battle after battle, why is the darkness never impeded and the light always sacrificed? We've got news reports of television ads of little girls dressed in princess outfits - using vile four letter words as a campaign to end violence against women - as if using tiny children to spew out filthy language - speaking of things they should not even know of - is going to curb violence. There is one way to confront evil in this land and it is by reading the Word of God - hearing the Word of God and repentance to the LORD - Salvation - and praying with all our hearts for our nation and our fellow citizens - this is how a city is changed, this is how men, women and children are changed - not through using tiny children to sin on public television! God forbid - this nation is going over a cliff here.
