Yes, I was confirmed a year ago Easter. I was told I could choose my own confirmation name, which I did.

I think that's true here too, depending on the choice of the confirmandi and/or their parents and sponsors, if they're under age.

I was confirmed at the same time as several non-English speaking African adult converts, all of whom chose a saint name.

Interesting how similar yet how different we are.

Our Bishop called us by our saint name and then said "Be sealed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit" as he made the sign of the Cross on our forehead using Holy Oil. All in English.

I might have swooned, had he addressed me in Latin, especially since the entirety of my understanding of Latin was the Hail Mary.
