You likely wouldn't see it. A black man goes to the court house to pay his taxes and he has to pay it to an entity that is honoring a man that fought to keep his ancestors in slavery outside of the court house.

Confederates were not traitors. Their concern was about their own states, not inflicting harm on northern states. As those states are part of the current union, their valor deserves respect and recognition.
