Define a 'liberal democracy' please.

In a true democracy or an anarchy, the strong can prey on the weak, the minority has no say in much of anything, the ones in the majority can be totally self-serving at the expense of everybody else.

So how is a 'liberal democracy' different from that if it is?

If it isn't different from that, there are no 'most important'. There are only those who can take whatever they want from anybody.

Not really. They limited the citizenry to mostly white male property owners to keep the unwashed, uneducated, and superstitious folks from using the so called tyranny of democracy to bring the elitist down. Democracy in the forms of democratic elections by the voters, and democratic votes in both chambers of Congress, have always been interwoven in our constitutional republic.
