Competency Doesn't Mean White!

Sure, he was guilty of a misdemeanor. He should have been fined accordingly.

It was a lot more than a misdemeanor. You guys wanted to lynch Bill Clinton for a lot less.

So no excuse for the wild spending by Biden? Gotcha.
You mean the spending that got us out of the recession.

We've never gotten out of a recession without an influx of government spending. Good presidents buy houses, bad presidents buy bombs.

You are lying. You woudln't even think about discussing anything with Cleetus and you may even not call someone that lived in the South for fear that they may not espouse your political beliefs. Also, you have expressed the opinion that people born in the South are stupid. Talk about stereotyping.

I thought we were talking about Precious, not Cleetus, but never mind.

The private sector would love to have a piece of many of the jobs the federal government performs, ESPECIALLY if they were paid as much as the federal government spends. That would be a slam dunk for private industries who are FAR more efficient than the federal government.

So this is always the part that amuses me. For the last 40 years, Republicans have taken away the MIddle class in the private sector, by busting unions, invoking "right to work" bullshit, at Will employment, etc. And instead of being mad at Republicans for doing that, you are mad at government workers for keeping their middle class lives.

Fucking amazing.

Did it ever dawn on you why so many federal employees didn’t take the Trump severance package that paid them until August, with no future work restrictions?

Why? Because it was a patently illegal violation of their contracts, to start with.

What do you know, a woke opinion article that rants about free speech but fails to mention anything about the squashing of the Hunter laptop story in the middle of a presidential election.

Why do you think anyone gave a fuck about the Hunter Laptop.

"Well, we just buried Aunt Tilly last week from Covid, they just laid me off, and I can't go downtown this week because of the riots, but dammit, that laptop had a picture of Hunter's Wang on it!!!"

You are reading things that echo your opinions, not searching for any semblance of truth.

Actually, I used to make a habit of reading sources on the right and left, when the right was still relatively sane.

But when the right became rationalizing fucking porn stars as family values and selling out free peoples to Putin, it just got way to crazy.

Wrong, which is why they had to twist the law into a pretzel to get a bunch of felony charges. They essentially turned stealing a pack of gun into a bunch of felony charges, one for each stick.

You mean the spending that got us out of the recession.

We were coming out of a pandemic. We weren't in a recession and people were already flush with money eager to spend.

So this is always the part that amuses me. The average government employee is making quite a bit more than the average American. People are mad because we are paying many of them to do little to nothing while making more money than the equivalent job in the private sector.

Since when has anyone thought the government was efficient? Oh yeah, since a Republican decided to cut it.

Why? Because it was a patently illegal violation of their contracts, to start with.

They don’t care about that. Had they been offered $1million cash would they have resigned or would they have stuck by their guns and taken a stand that it illegal. What a load of crap. They didn’t take the deal because they know they have a sweetheart deal going at our expense.

I don’t know, maybe because it exposed potential corruption by the guy they were potentially voting for? Polls following the election showed that a significant number would have changed their vote had that been made aware. Remember, everyone isn’t as gullible as you.

Actually, I used to make a habit of reading sources on the right and left, when the right was still relatively sane.

So you decided to start reading Vox? Let me guess, Rolling Stone is one of your bookmarks. You are very lost and don’t even realize it.

It is the left that has gone completely crazy. Most people realize that.

Well, not really. You see, there were 34 actions Trump took to continue to hide the affair with Daniels, including illegal transfers of money and attempts to hide it.

Clinton just lied about getting a blow job.

We were coming out of a pandemic. We weren't in a recession and people were already flush with money eager to spend.

Not really. Unemployment was still close to 7%. There were still sporadic lockdowns when Trump left. GDP shrank by 2.2% for the year. Life sucked in 2020. This is why Trump got shown the door.

And then half of you forgot how bad things got, apparently.

The average government employee is making quite a bit more than the average American. People are mad because we are paying many of them to do little to nothing while making more money than the equivalent job in the private sector.

Since when has anyone thought the government was efficient? Oh yeah, since a Republican decided to cut it.

You miss the point. You see, back in the day when we had unions, government jobs weren't considered that lucrative. Then you Wingnuts busted the unions, imposed right to work and at will employment, and used every recession as an excuse to lay people off and hire new people for less.

Meanwhile, government workers kept their good salaries and benefits.

It's like asking the arsonist to burn down your neighbor's house after he burned down yours.

They don’t care about that. Had they been offered $1million cash would they have resigned or would they have stuck by their guns and taken a stand that it illegal. What a load of crap. They didn’t take the deal because they know they have a sweetheart deal going at our expense.

Except no one offered them 1MM. Also, they probably heard stories about how Gauleiter Musk offered Twitter Employees buyouts that never happened.

I don’t know, maybe because it exposed potential corruption by the guy they were potentially voting for? Polls following the election showed that a significant number would have changed their vote had that been made aware. Remember, everyone isn’t as gullible as you.

Nope. NObody cared that Hunter put dick-pics on his laptop. Hunter wasn't even running for office, last time I checked.

Everyone heard about the laptop, they just didn't care. They had bigger problems, most of them caused by your Fuhrer.

So you decided to start reading Vox? Let me guess, Rolling Stone is one of your bookmarks. You are very lost and don’t even realize it.

We aren't two months in, and we are practically at war with Canada. FUCKING CANADA!!!

This to you isn't crazy?

I used to read RedState, National Review, Town Hall, and a few others. I used to check in regularly with RealClearPolitics.com.

And then the right wing got completely nutso, trying to rationalize whatever crazy thing Trump did or said this week.

Non-disclosure agreements are very common. Falsifying business records is a misdemeanor for a reason. Trump paid her money to shut up and go away. No, he didn’t write her a check directly with “money to go away” written in the memo field, but he did pay her from his own personal account, not campaign funds.

If Clinton could have paid somebody to keep the Monica story quiet, he would have been all over it and I can assure you he wouldn’t have written them a check directly from his personal checking account.

The public was ready to buy.

Intelligent people were able to see that our country was in great shape pre-COVID. It was a black swan event which caused worldwide ecomomic disruption. You obviously aren’t one of the intelligent ones.

Meanwhile, government workers kept their good salaries and benefits.

When I started working out of college, the private sector paid more for the same job than the public sector and this was in a right to work state. No unions. People took government jobs because they were cushy, in the sense that the expectations were lower, they were much more stable and the benefits were better. As the years progressed, their pay increased at a faster rate, after all, the government doesn’t have to answer to stock holders and profits don’t matter. They just raise the budget when they want more money. As it stands now, they make more, on average, with all the perks while private sector employers pick up the bill. Morons like you are ok with it and want us to pay even more taxes to pick up the tab. Talk about voting against our own self-interest.

Except no one offered them 1MM. Also, they probably heard stories about how Gauleiter Musk offered Twitter Employees buyouts that never happened.

But what if they were? You implied that they didn’t take the buy out on some moral grounds that it was illegal. Would legality and morality go out the window if the money would have been high enough? We both know the answer to that. What you are left with is exactly what I said. The majority didn’t take it because they would lose the gravy train federal empowerment provides. Again, you are ok with it and even paying for it because you are brainwashed to worship the government, exactly as good Socialist or Communist is supposed to.

Nope. NObody cared that Hunter put dick-pics on his laptop. Hunter wasn't even running for office, last time I checked.

Everyone heard about the laptop, they just didn't care. They had bigger problems, most of them caused by your Fuhrer.

You saying it didn’t matter doesn’t make it true. Polls said otherwise. It didn’t matter to you because you would have voted for Biden if they had him on video robbing a bank.

We aren't two months in, and we are practically at war with Canada. FUCKING CANADA!!!

Hyperbole much? Canada will cave because they must. Have you seen their GDP compared to ours? Funny stuff. Asking them to give us fair deals isn’t too much to ask. Democrats are always looking to help any country but our own.

A jury didn't see it that way. Imagine that. If America had found out about Stormy in 2016, Trump would have been done, especially after the Pussy-Grabbing tape.

If Clinton could have paid somebody to keep the Monica story quiet, he would have been all over it and I can assure you he wouldn’t have written them a check directly from his personal checking account.

Actually, paying her would have been a crime, just like Trump. If he tried to pay Monica, Ken Starr, that old pervert, would have been all over it.

Intelligent people were able to see that our country was in great shape pre-COVID. It was a black swan event which caused worldwide ecomomic disruption. You obviously aren’t one of the intelligent ones.

Uh, guy, it wasn't a black swan event. It was gross incompetence that hit America harder than other countries because we had bad leadership.

When I started working out of college, the private sector paid more for the same job than the public sector and this was in a right to work state.

I'm sure your job as Head Possum Catcher was very lucrative, Cleetus.

But what if they were? You implied that they didn’t take the buy out on some moral grounds that it was illegal. Would legality and morality go out the window if the money would have been high enough?

Why do you think this is a compelling argument? Giving up your job in an illegal power grab by an unelected and unconfirmed FOREIGNER on a fake offer is a bad deal.

You saying it didn’t matter doesn’t make it true. Polls said otherwise. It didn’t matter to you because you would have voted for Biden if they had him on video robbing a bank.

Polls said Harris was going to win. Polls can say whatever you wanted them to.

Bring me someone who said, "I voted for Biden, but if I only knew about Hunter's Dick-Pics, and I would have voted for Trump."

That person doesn't exist.

Hyperbole much? Canada will cave because they must. Have you seen their GDP compared to ours? Funny stuff. Asking them to give us fair deals isn’t too much to ask. Democrats are always looking to help any country but our own.
Why does Canada need to "Cave"? Why are we even having a conflict with Canada, one of our oldest allies? Canada already agreed to Trump's NAFTA replacement (you know, the one he said an idiot negotiated, forgetting he was the idiot who negotiated it.)

A jury didn't see it that way. Imagine that. If America had found out about Stormy in 2016, Trump would have been done, especially after the Pussy-Grabbing tape.

You mean like had more of the country getting more information on the shadiness of the Biden family from Hunter’s laptop, including information about the “big guy”, would have effected the 2020 election?

Actually, paying her would have been a crime, just like Trump

Paying someone for remaining quiet about something, assuming that something itself was not criminal, is not a crime. Companies routinely have people sign non-disclosures in exchange for money. It is very commonplace.

Uh, guy, it wasn't a black swan event.

It wasn’t in the sense that pandemics have occurred before, but obviously the world was caught with their pants down.

I'm sure your job as Head Possum Catcher was very lucrative, Cleetus.

The point was that when I started working, the Head Possum Catcher that worked in the private sector in a non-union state made more money than the one hired by federal or local government. That has since flipped because the government has become more and more inefficient. If the private sector paid the same, including benefits, of federal government, you would be paying a whole lot more for everything you buy. The government salaries are out of line with the overall economy because they have not been forced to stay in line, after all, the government hasn’t had to answer for their expenses. They can just borrow more money or raise taxes to pay for any increases in salaries and/or benefits. For some reason, people like you are ok with that.

Why do you think this is a compelling argument? Giving up your job in an illegal power grab by an unelected and unconfirmed FOREIGNER on a fake offer is a bad deal.

You are the one that said that many didn’t accept the severance because it was illegal. My argument is that wasn’t the reason at all because these people would have jumped all over it if the money was enough to make up for their cushy jobs and benefits. It had nothing to do with what is right and wrong on anything being legal or not. They turned it down because where else are they going to find such an employment deal where they do little to nothing all day, make more than their piers in the private sector and have much better benefits, all at our expense? Given enough money to not have to worry about those pesky little things, they would have jumped all over it.

Bring me someone who said, "I voted for Biden, but if I only knew about Hunter's Dick-Pics, and I would have voted for Trump."

That person doesn't exist.

“10% to the Big Guy”. There was much more to the laptop than exposing the scumbaggery of Hunter and the entire Biden family.

Why does Canada need to "Cave"?

They don’t have to cave, but they need to for their own well being. They can continue to NOT do as we ask to protect our Northern border and they get into a trade war with us. They will lose the latter and they know it. The smart thing for them to do would be to work with the US to further border security and to crack down on fentanyl labs in their country. Unfortunately for Canada, they got rid of one left-wing nut and replaced him with another, which doesn’t bode well for their future.

You mean like had more of the country getting more information on the shadiness of the Biden family from Hunter’s laptop, including information about the “big guy”, would have effected the 2020 election?

The laptop was general knowledge. Everyone saw it for what it was, a Russian/Republican dirty trick.

Meanwhile, Americans didn't know he was fucking a porn star while his wife was at home with his fifth kid.

Paying someone for remaining quiet about something, assuming that something itself was not criminal, is not a crime. Companies routinely have people sign non-disclosures in exchange for money. It is very commonplace.

It shouldn't be.

And the fact that he falsified records and used straw men to pay out the money shows he knew he was doing something illegal.

It wasn’t in the sense that pandemics have occurred before, but obviously the world was caught with their pants down.

Except the rest of the world handled it much better than Trump did. The US had 4% of the world's population and 25% of the Covid fatalities.

Take Japan. About 50K fatalities in a population of 133 million. Despite their population skewing older and being more condensed geographically, they did a really good job of containing the virus. Why? because when Trump opposed shutdowns, Japan embraced them until protocols could be put into place. While Trump denounced mask wearing, Japan was into that before the pandemic. While Trump held super spreader events, Japan cancelled big events, including the Olympics

And despite doing a far better job than Trump did, the Japanese PM STILL resigned because he felt the fatalities were too high.

The point was that when I started working, the Head Possum Catcher that worked in the private sector in a non-union state made more money than the one hired by federal or local governmentThat has since flipped because the government has become more and more inefficient. If the private sector paid the same, including ben. efits, of federal government, you would be paying a whole lot more for everything you buy. The government salaries are out of line with the overall economy because they have not been forced to stay in line, after all, the government hasn’t had to answer for their expenses. They can just borrow more money or raise taxes to pay for any increases in salaries and/or benefits. For some reason, people like you are ok with that.

No, you fucking moron. It flipped because the private sector has spent the last 40 years gutting the middle class in this country. It's why we have recessions every time the Republicans get into office. It's not a bug, it's a design feature.

The Federal workers retained their unions and their benefits, and you are upset with them instead of being upset with the plutocrats who took it away from the private sector.

You are the one that said that many didn’t accept the severance because it was illegal.

Which it is. The problem with taking an illegal severance is someone might come looking for it. (Or more likely, it would never be paid at all.)

“10% to the Big Guy”. There was much more to the laptop than exposing the scumbaggery of Hunter and the entire Biden family.

Only if the "big guy" was Biden. which it probably wasn't. Also, this deal was perfectly legal.

You make us sound like the bully who takes the smaller kid's lunch money.

Only 1% of the Fentanyl that comes into the US comes from Canada.

The reason why the left made a resurgence in Canada is because of Trump's ugly rhetoric. Flipping off Trump is a real crowd pleaser in the sane world.

The laptop was general knowledge. Everyone saw it for what it was, a Russian/Republican dirty trick.

You know the Russian disinformation stuff was debunked, right? Oh wait, you read Vox and don’t have a clue.

Those 51 former intelligence agency “experts” were proven to be incorrect. Go figure.

It shouldn't be.

And the fact that he falsified records and used straw men to pay out the money shows he knew he was doing something illegal.

Forgive me if I don’t care what you think should be illegal or not. Non-disclosures are perfectly legal and will remain so.

Dude, Trump wasn’t doing anything illegal by paying Daniel’s to sign a non-disclosure. The only illegal(misdemeanor) part was that he didn’t designate it correctly, and yes, likely on purpose to protect himself from bad publicity. Remember, he was a public figure well before running for any political office, unlike you, who would have little reason to worry about protecting your reputation.

The illegal part of what he did was how he categorized the payment on his business records, not the fact that he paid her. Regardless, it was a misdemeanor, but the liberal nuts in NYC twisted the law to elevate it to multiple felonies. Lawfare, pure and simple, but you and others like you don’t care if Democrats use the power of the federal government(yes they were involved) to go after their political rivals by fabricating felonies.

Except the rest of the world handled it much better than Trump did. The US had 4% of the world's population and 25% of the Covid fatalities.

Much of the world also didn’t have an opposition party that did everything in their power to derail their leader, even during a pandemic. Democrats saw an opportunity to politically benefit and took full advantage. Pre-COVID, the Democrats didn’t stand a chance in hell of getting Trump out of office. Things were running along far too well, despite the never ending Democrat tantrums that were doing everything in their power to throw a cog in the Trump train wheels.

Older or not, they are generally a healthier population than we have in the US. Shutdowns weren’t the answer as there were other countries with better outcomes that were not nearly as aggressive as the US with shutdowns. Paper masks don’t work. Trump tried to shut down travel from the onset while Democrats raged about racism and then it takes hold and they rage that Trump didn’t restrict travel. Funny stuff.

No stupid. The private sector can’t give raises every year without taking into account company performance. The government can because performance doesn’t matter. There is no accountability. I haven’t looked but I bet government workers received raises in 2008-2009, despite the huge economic downturn at that time.

Unions are unnecessary and have been for decades.

Democrats are for the very poor and the very rich. They fool suckers like you into thinking they are for you by throwing you a few crumbs every now and then and with rhetoric like “tax the rich” and other nonsense.

Which it is. The problem with taking an illegal severance is someone might come looking for it. (Or more likely, it would never be paid at all.)

For one, it isn’t illegal. Secondly, you now they wouldn't have cared if the severance was larger. It just wasn’t enough to entice them to stop sucking from the government teat.

Only if the "big guy" was Biden. which it probably wasn't. Also, this deal was perfectly legal.

Actually, it probably was. Regardless, Hunter was there, making millions, because of the influence he could provide for Burisma while his dad was VP and the point man to the Ukraine. When presented with the facts, ordinary people find the entire situation to be just a tad shady. You and other left-wing nuts are not ordinary, but of course you don’t know that.

The reason why the left made a resurgence in Canada is because of Trump's ugly rhetoric. Flipping off Trump is a real crowd pleaser in the sane world.

Trudeau was elected in 2015. Trump had nothing to do with Canada’s nutty move to the left.

As to the thread title it does generally mean exactly that

You know the Russian disinformation stuff was debunked, right? Oh wait, you read Vox and don’t have a clue.

Those 51 former intelligence agency “experts” were proven to be incorrect. Go figure.

Actually, nothing of the sort was proven.

Do you know what I have yet to see. A bill of sale for that laptop to Hunter or a company he worked for.

Some of the date on it was real.
Other data was manipulated.
And other items were never claimed to be on the laptop (like supposed picks of Hunter with kids) but the claims they were circulated the internet.

All the huffing and puffing, and the only thing Hunter got charged with was income tax mistakes.

The jury said otherwise.

And, yes, it was campaign fraud if the purpose was to hide it before the election. Why not pay her off in 2005 when he fucked her? Back then, he didn't care.

Guy, first, the Democrats were leading Trump in the polls before the Pandemic hit. Not just Biden but Harris, Buttigig, Sanders, etc.

Secondly, it was the Democrats who wanted to do the sensible things that curbed the pandemic in other countries. Trump fought them every step of the way.

Actually, we were the least aggressive with shutdown. And Trump's racist travel ban made things worse because Americans in China panicked to get back without being screened.

No stupid. The private sector can’t give raises every year without taking into account company performance. The government can because performance doesn’t matter. There is no accountability. I haven’t looked but I bet government workers received raises in 2008-2009, despite the huge economic downturn at that time.

Again, it's not an issue of performance. They always seem to have money to pay those big executive salaries. Like they paid the CEO of GM 16 million dollars the year they got the bailout.

Unions are unnecessary and have been for decades.
Nope, they are needed for the same reason they've always been. Capitalists are too damned greedy, as Herbert Hoover observed.

Democrats are for the very poor and the very rich. They fool suckers like you into thinking they are for you by throwing you a few crumbs every now and then and with rhetoric like “tax the rich” and other nonsense.

Actually, no. Democrats support working people, they support regulations to protect consumers and the environment.

For one, it isn’t illegal. Secondly, you now they wouldn't have cared if the severance was larger. It just wasn’t enough to entice them to stop sucking from the government teat.

“We demand that you immediately rescind this offer,” Democrats wrote in a Feb. 3 letter to President Donald Trump. “Federal employees are right to be skeptical of the resignation offer. The Administration does not appear to be acting pursuant to any buyout or severance authority outlined in Title V of U.S. Code. The offer provides no legally binding or formal guarantees, the guidance that it gives employees is likely illegal, and the entire offer could be found to violate the Anti-Deficiency Act.”

No, nobody really cares about Hunter's dick-picks. Most of the business he did was when his dad was out of office.

Trudeau was elected in 2015. Trump had nothing to do with Canada’s nutty move to the left.

And now he's probably going to be re-elected because of Trump's crazy rhetoric.

If Trump had just left well enough alone, he'd have probably gotten a Tory government he could work with.
Then he started talking this "51st State" shit.
