It's funny enough I watch it. But like Keene and Peele, it's sophmoric. But that's not the perfect word to describe them.
1. : conceited and overconfident of knowledge but poorly informed and immature. a sophomoric argument. 2. : lacking in maturity, taste, or judgment.
They aren't conceited, overconfident or poorly informed. Just immature. Lacking maturity.
It reminds me of a high school play. Everyone claps for the actors but really, were they that good? So this Eric Andre and Keene and Peele are just the best things going TODAY. And if this is the best we got, that sucks huh?
In Living Color. Jim Carrey. The Wayens brothers. New Kids on the Block. Do you remember them? Very clever skits. Or any good SNL character or skit. They are all better than the stuff Eric's putting out.
I can see these three hosting late night talk shows one day. They all have enough cred with the younger generation. They/you will remember them as being funny. And they are/were. But usually the skits don't end well. They don't know how to end a bit.
I'm trying to explain it but don't know if I'm doing a good job of it. And partially because yes I have LOL'ed watching Eric Andre. But not Keene and Peele. They are funny but not that funny.
Reminds me of Woody Allen. To me, other than the way he looks, there is nothing funny about him. I've never laughed at any Woody Allen joke or movie scene. EVER!
