"Racist!" some students yelled at Anthony Maschek, a Columbia freshman and former Army staff sergeant awarded the Purple Heart after being shot 11 times in a firefight in northern Iraq in February 2008. Others hissed and booed the veteran.

Maschek, 28, had bravely stepped up to the mike Tuesday at the meeting to issue an impassioned challenge to fellow students on their perceptions of the military.

"It doesn't matter how you feel about the war. It doesn't matter how you feel about fighting," said Maschek. "There are bad men out there plotting to kill you."

Bad part is Olbermann was pretty good in my opinion on ESPN. I remember him well. Wasn't into politics then, but it didn't matter, he was taking touchdowns and dunks, not entitlements and punks.

I liked his voice and demeanor on ESPN. He probably could've been quite successful for a long time in sports broadcasting. Unfortunately, his brain was rotted by the disease of liberalism and he couldn't help himself.

How, he'll be broadcasting with Al Gore in the back unit of an old industrial lot on Current TV.

I feel sorry for those young ignorant, uninformed and completely ill-mannered students.
They aren't born to this kind of hate and abhorant behaviours......the adults, the parents and or professors seem to have indoctrinated this kind of extreme detesting.
The students had every right to disgree with ROTC reinstatement on campus, but who taught them this kind of intolerance and just plain disrespect. And who is teaching them world affairs and history.......that these students are oblivious to human rights and freedoms, stonings and terrorism....that there is an enemy of the west who very much is determined to take your life and your country.
It leaves one speechless. Especially in that Ahmadinejad was an invited guest speaker to this Campus. Perhaps this too will be another revealing of just how out of touch the liberal 'so-called' progressive movement is and how unreservedly biased and unfair and agenda driven (whatever that is?) there are.
Everything they did, absolutely clarified who the heroes and respected are.

Assuming you are referring to Obama, I voted for him because it was him or McCain. My first choice was Dennis Kucinich or Mike Gravel.
