Colorado city cuts services and gives the money to city employees

They use them in the UK and have next to no traffic jams in most parts of London.
.

When I was in England, my host drove the roundabouts like a pro while I white-knuckled my way through most of it! Must admit they know how to do it.

.

Yes those city workers are so ungodly wealthy on the massive salary they get to plow our streets, puck up our trash, keep our streets safe, put out our fires, etc.
They knew the wage they signed up for. They are not hapless people who are just getting screwed. This statement is beneath you.

What I want to know is this.

They take the taxes under the pretense of keeping infrastructure intact. Then give the money to othe rpurposes.

Why is this not a crime?

Its not just wages

Healthcare, retirement pensions, sick days, vacation time, and almost ironclad tenure

But its never enough for them

I think you are referring to administration, not the actual workers. They surely arent overcompensated. Maybe upper management. The run of the mill city worker isnt an issue.

My suggestion is to take it slow.
They have a bunch of them here at the Kansas City airport and in Lenexa.
.

I have to admit that it's not an issue because, as I said, there are only two in my AO. It is, however, getting harder to avoid the diamond interchanges, which will still drive me crazy for a while. They keep saying they're safer, but they do take getting used to.

Admin makes a higher salary and may get better side perks like bonuses or attending conferences in Las Vegas or Hawaii, but otherwise even the workers in the trenches are on the gravy train for everything else

We could not pry them out of those jobs with a crowbar

So police and fire are on a gravy train?

Well a city can vote to cut most all services, get rid of the workers, and go from there. Problem solved.

They deserve more pay than a clerk in the water dept and should retire at a younger age

But they are the common sense exceptions

And the voters can remove them from office

Things usually have to get pretty bad to awaken voters from the stupor that often exists at the local level

But cutting off all city services might do it

All across America overpaid government employees are demanding higher taxes and giving thr money to themselves

And the taxpayers are pushing back

We should throw the bums out and apply pay cuts to government employees rather than raising taxes

Jerk chicken and a Red Stripe; Ja Mon.

The city was clearly trying to punish the voters for not giving them a raise

For instance cutting off street lights sends a message not to piss off the government
That's normal. Failing to pass budget increases in this area usually means things like closing the transfer station, closing the library, ending school extracurriculars, etc. That's because they can NEVER cut staff! No, we DEFINITELY need to pay someone's cousin to be the third deputy associate to the second deputy assistant to the first associate assistant school superintendent!
