Police brutality and racial inequality was the ORIGINAL REASON Kaperinic took a knee in 2016.

Lie, Spin, bitch ... Trump is too damn stupid to be truthful - his idiot drones are too damn stupid to do anything but kiss his ass. Total confusion leading to horseshit rants for the wrong reasons.

Police brutality. And racial inequality. That's what demonstrations during the national anthem are about!

That's what Colin Kaepernick knelt for last year, long before Trump was in office. Kaepernick was never specifically protesting about Trump. Heck, Kaepernick had harsh words for Hillary Clinton, too. His protest was about African-Americans getting shot by police officers, profiled by law enforcement and labeled as dangerous thugs by society. That's a crisis that predates the Trump presidency by decades.

Kaepernick's message was initially distorted, garbled and repurposed by those who specialize in distorting, garbling and repurposing any messages they don't want to hear. The get the hell out of my countrycrowd has always been too dedicated to being part of the problem, dating back to the civil rights movement, to listen to the likes of Kaepernick. But plenty of other athletes and activists understood Kaepernick's cause and rallied to it.

The OP, though, isn't about whether BLM has a valid beef. It is about Trump's fans turning it into an issue about patriotism. Long leap there, from six guys quietly protesting, to suddenly the country inflamed about respect for the flag and how they should be FORCED to salute. Where did the protest about police brutality go? Completely underwater now, and the protesters being pressured to stop because of an argument that has nothing to do with the initial protest.

So, how do we get these idiots to stop showing their ass every pre-game ceremony? What redress can we possibly provide? What is their list of idiotic demands?

Without some sort of demand for action, these idiots appear to be doing nothing but acting like dicks.

What the fuck do they want? Specifically?

No one is asking people to be forced to salute the flag. I have a bigger problem with the white trash, blacks, wetbacks, and anyone else that won't STFU for 2 minutes while it's being played at events I attend.

just curious do you think all cops are bad? just wondering where you draw your line. what percentage if not all.

"Make them Stand" LOL

No one should have to make you stand. You should stand and show respect to the country where you live because you live here. If someone is protesting because of perceptions they have in certain situations, this is not the way to fix the problem. If they think it is, they deserve to be chastised not for standing but for being a dumbass.

Trump tweeted yesterday that rules be added so that players are REQUIRED to salute the flag. That is, in polite terms, forcing.

Colin K took a knee because he was washed up and rumors were flying that he would not have a Job with the 49ers when his contract was up. I distinctly recall comparisons to "Johnny Football". And you call trumpkins rubes ?

Kaepernick was just an easy target for the Oranguton who wanted an issue to deflect from amnesty and Daca and yet another Obamacaredebacle.

Most people don't like the kneeling during the anthem even if they have some misgivings about how blacks are treated in policing. The guy's not the sharpest tool in the shed, and before starting his protest thing he probably should have gotten advice.

Frankly, I don't have a problem with the frequency of cops pulling over blacks. But there's no doubt some have been killed despite not threatening cops, but merely because of misperceptions by cops. It's sad. However, imo the larger problem is inequality within the justice system of how crimes are punished ... or not punished.
