Colbert stands by Kimmel

Now that the late night hosts have been canceled, we can get back to talking about the Epstein file being released.

Oh wait...
Pretty sure Biden has those files, you should ask im

Stephen Colbert has blasted President Donald Trump in a defiant defense of Jimmy Kimmel as Jimmy Fallon broke his silence over the abrupt cancellation of the ABC host's late night show.

CBS' Colbert - whose show will end in May after his own issues with President Trump - dedicated his Thursday monologue to free speech and Kimmel's team at ABC.

'This is blatant censorship,' Colbert said of Kimmel's ouster at the taping for the show, which is set to air later Thursday night.

He then blasted Trump as an 'autocrat' saying 'you cannot give [him] an inch.'

'Jimmy, I stand with you and your staff 100 percent.'

'Tonight, we are all Jimmy Kimmel,' Colbert then declared.

He also said during a question-and-answer session ahead of his show that despite his own cancellation at CBS, the network which airs The Late Show with Stephen Colbert 'wouldn't have done this.

'Now, regardless of what you think, what has already been done and how that looks, this is weak.'

Comment:
They did it to themselves.
They could have chosen to be mainstream, but they chose to demonize half of the country instead.
Hate is not funny.
There was no hate in his comment, for Kirk, when made about the assassin and his birth family upbringing.

Trump is upset about what is said about him in the Kimmel skit....he couldn't give a rats ass, about Kirk or anyone else, the video clips prove that imo,

Plus, Kimmel and all of us, has first amendment protection from our GOVERNMENT trying to limit, curb, or Stop such speech via direct or indirect, intimidation or abuse of power.

The End.

If Kimmel and Colbert were such hot acts and so popular and deserving of the millions they were getting paid, dozens of other media sources around the world would be bidding for their services. The need for content is tremendous.

The fact that they are just whining, tells me they are literally shit, and reruns of Gilligan's Island draw better ratings.

Trump attacked the 1st amendment and you still support him. What does that say about you?

They did it to themselves? In America we are free to say what we want. In Russia if you say something about Putin, he will put you in jail. They know they are not free so they did it to themselves if they speak against Putin.

In America we are free to talk about Trump. So no, they didn't do anything to themselves. They exercised their constitutional rights. And Trump wipes his ass with the constitution when it suits him. So do you. You just did with this post of ours.

Half of America think Kimmel is hilarious. It could just be you suck dons dick so you don't think don jokes are funny. You're like a woman who doesn't like Andrew Dice Clay jokes. Oh it's funny alright.

Kimmel has his fans, I'll give you that.

But half the people in America?

His ratings wouldn't be in the toilet if 1/2 of Americans thought he was "hilarious"

Exactly right, thank you!

Kimmel's real sin is that he just isn't funny.

South Park is still on the air, no one is trying to shut them down, in spite of the fact that South Park is spreading the false rumor that President Trump is fathering a child with Satan.

The difference is SP is an amusing program, and not just some liberal hating the millions of little Trumpsters and calling it comedy.

Charlie thought Kimmel wasn't funny and he was right too!

I was watching Dennis Miller last night. 2019. While I don't agree with him politically, I think he would be a great replacement for Colbert next year. I'd like to see one right wing host's spin on politics. Compare what he's saying to what Seth, Jimmy and Jimmy are saying. The The Daily Show.

Dennis was making fun of Democrats after Hillary lost. It was before Republicans stormed the Capitol. He said we lost our shit in 2016? Not like MAGA lost theirs in 2020. LOL.

Dennis did say he doesn't care about trannies. They should be free to be who they want to be. I wonder if he still feels that way. He said "but don't expect me not to need a moment when I find out Bruce Jenner, Olympian, is now Caitlyn. LOL. That was funny and true.

Anyways, Dennis Miller would be a good right wing late night talk show host. Why can't they give a con one of those slots? I say the same thing about right wing radio shows. Randi Rhodes would get huge ratings. Give the left a voice on the radio! And the right a voice on late night. I'll dvr and watch their spin on reality why not?

I always enjoyed Don Rickles, in spite of the fact that he was a liberal Democrat. Even when he was poking fun at distinguished conservatives like Sammy Davis and Frank Sinatra

I never picked up on Don's political affiliations. Same with Sammy and Frank. Thank you for the history lesson. I love learning new things.

Sammy Davis Jr. was a lifelong registered Democrat who notably endorsed Nixon during his 1972 re-election campaign. This unusual and controversial political move caused a major rift in his career and personal life.

Davis had a falling out with the Kennedys after his marriage to a white Swedish actress, May Britt, in 1960. He was disinvited from performing at JFK's 1961 inaugural gala, an incident that deeply hurt him.

  • President Nixon courted Davis and the two developed a friendship. In 1972, Davis appeared at the Republican National Convention and famously hugged Nixon on stage.
  • The Backlash: This endorsement shocked many, especially in the African American community, and led to hostile reactions from friends and critics.
  • Davis eventually came to regret his support for Nixon, claiming that the president had made promises on civil rights that he did not keep.
  • Support for Jesse Jackson: By the 1980s, Davis had returned to his Democratic roots. He became a longtime donor to Jesse Jackson's Operation PUSH organization and supported Jackson's 1984 presidential campaign.
