Trump has had nothing to do with any reduction in US emissions, in fact reversing the mileage improvement standards proposed by Obama goes in the opposite direction. Emissions percapta is not that interesting. Total emissions is interesting.
What's interesting is the global trend and how we are reducing emissions compared to other countries. Here is the world CO2 emissions ending in 2014 from the EPA:

Thanks to Obamas regulations on power plants and transition from coal to Natgas, the emissions from power plants in the US has fallen slightly over the last 10 years. Emissions from vehicles on the other hand continue to rise in the US, and is aggravated by the trend for new pickups and SUV's with large engines. The government should be offering incentives to get hybrids and better incentives to get electric cars.
China's emissions are twice the US, but they are making much more effort to reduce that than the US is. We are still the worlds #2 emitter. See the pie chart below showing the contribution by country.

What is not included in this pie-chart is the contribution from Methane and CO2 from forest fires.
