Probably because all we have talked about is invading the place. If we wanted to take Kharg, we should have moved in there and just taken it by surprise. Unless all of this is a some diversionary tactic.

Chances are, you or the common American has NEVER known what the US has planned to do strategically in the world. Those decisions are typically made behind closed doors and if there aren't any traitorous democrat 'leakers' in the room, no one ever hears about the US action until it is completed.
