Stephen Cohen is among the few experts willing to blame both sides for a crisis that could lead to a shooting war between NATO and Russia. He's also convinced there are no competent civilian negotiators on the US side. While many of us watch Gaza, Cohen points out how that's a regional conflict while Ukraine is global in its consequences.
"In his interview with Ian Masters, Nation contributing editor Stephen Cohen discusses the dangerous tensions between Washington and Moscow. Unlike other regional conflicts, Cohen states that the violence in Ukraine 'is globalÂ…and the destiny of our children and grandchildren is playing out.'
"Cohen also critiques the Obama administrations lack of statesmanship and diplomacy: 'This is [Obama's] defining moment. This is what Roosevelt called his rendezvous with destiny and [Obama] seems to flee [his] destiny.'
"As the Washington hawks continue to take incremental action, Cohen asserts that we're in the 'worst American-Russian crisis since the Cuban Missile confrontation.'"

To be more precise, he is a journalist who will probably not be working for CNN for too long
Cohen isn't likely to ever get interviewed regularly on MSM, much less work for them. He does track US crimes in that region of the world along with Putins, however:
"The shoot-down of Malaysian jetliner MH17 on July 17 should have compelled the US-backed government in Kiev to declare a prolonged cease-fire in its land and air attacks on nearby cities in order to honor the 298 victims, give international investigators safe access to the crash site, and begin peace talks.
"Instead, Kiev, with WashingtonÂ’s backing, immediately intensified its attacks on those residential areas, vowing to 'liberate' them from pro-Russian 'terrorists,' as it brands resisters in eastern Ukraine, killing more innocent people.
"In response, Moscow is reportedly preparing to send heavy weapons to the 'self-defenders' of the Donbass.
"Now, according to a story in The New York Times of July 27, the White House may give Kiev sensitive intelligence information enabling it to pinpoint and destroy such Russian equipment, thereby, the Times article also suggests, risking 'escalation with Russia.'
"To promote this major escalation, the Obama administration is alleging, without firm evidence, that Russia is already 'firing artillery from its territory into Ukraine.'
"Virtually unreported, however, is repeated Ukrainian shelling of RussiaÂ’s own territory, which killed a resident on July 13."
If WWIII starts, do you think it's more likely to happen in Palestine or Ukraine?
