What’s wrong with getting trump in a perjury trap? If he lies to federal investigators, that’s on him.

Well, there’s purjury, like what we saw with Clinton, a flat out lie for a central question of an investigation (which trump could be capable of doing). But then there’s a perjury trap, where if you mess up on any one of 1000s of details for questioning going off of memory (wether coached before hand or not), they say AHA GOTCHA *****. Well, is that naturally severely flawed human memory (human memory is way worse than most actually realize), or was that purposeful deception? Like with Clinton...does anyone believe he just forgot about a few blowjobs (or that it was only blowjobs)? Nah.

The issue is, if you’re fine with the “get trump with whatever is gonna stick,”...sounding like trump is kind of right calling this a witch hunt. The line Russian collusion in 2017 practically broke a hole in my eardrum with how many times that phrase entered in there. The average american commits something like 3 felonies a day, if you keep digging you’ll find something. Even if it’s weak AF.

Trump wasn't asked about 1000's of deals. He was asked a few dozen questions. And a perjury trap is where prosecutors lead a witness to lie about something they know is untruthful and unrelated to the case in question, which is what Starr did with Clinton. Even holding up Lewinsky until they were done with Clinton so she couldn't warn him.

Regarding trump, if he lied about his business dealings in Russia, that's germane to the case, so not even a perjury trap.

there is no such thing as a perjury trap...

in order to file a perjury charge, they have to have materialistic evidence that shows the lie was intentional, with tangible documents showing that it was an intentional lie to deceive.

The problem is flawed human memory, you could be 100% convinced you went to this restaurant and saw a guy get robbed. And you could tell that to the police, but you actually were at this other restaurant, and saw a different guy get robbed. This is why eyewitness testimony is awful. Our brains are basically making shit up as we go, filling in plenty of details that seem very real to us. Famous demonstration of this is people got interviewed about what happened the day after 9/11, then were shown that interview and were convinced their past selves were lying because it wasn’t the way they remembered it happening. Brains basically throw a lot of shit away, then when you have to recall it, it’ll just mash everything together then regurgitate it as a deformed perversion of what it actually is.

It’s easy to look at a video of something and compare it to a testimony of what happened, and say “see, this mother ****** is intentionally lying.” I could be convinced I definitely went to chillis after an event, but there I am at Starbucks when I claimed to be at chillis.

That is true that our memories are flawed or sometimes even tricked.

This is why it is very hard to bring a perjury charge.... it has to be materialistic to an official investigation, and other evidence has to be present that shows they were lying and that they KNEW they were lying.....

it would never be with an investigator asking you, "what color suit did you wear last wednesday?'' your answer "gray" and then the interrogator charges you with perjury because it was actually a "blue suit"

but if say you answered "gray" to the investigator, but on Thursday you had tweeted a friend that you loved that blue suit you wore yesterday, and on Sunday you told a coworker that you loved that blue suit you wore the past wednesday....

but on tuesday the investigator that called you in for questioning asked you what color suit you wore Wednesday last week and you answer gray instead of a blue suit, and lied by saying it was gray, because the person who committed the robbery you were being investigated for wore a blue suit, then you could be in some big trouble.

Mueller's job is to find out what the Russians did in their illegal election influence campaign, and if there was any witting or unwitting cooperation from Americans. This lead them to the ''people that benefited'' from the Russian's Influence campaign, which was the Trump Campaign.... it's a logical place to go.

The never ending lies of the Trump campaign staff about their contacts and connections with Russians stood out like a sore thump.... or basically was like a flashing light calling for attention.... same with all the very unusual comments Candidate Trump made during the campaign praising Putin, and denying the Russian hacking of his opponent's emails with saying things to deflect like it could have been a 400 lb man in a basement that did it....
