Clinton surges to big lead in McClatchy-Marist poll

Source: McClatchy

WASHINGTON
Hillary Clinton has surged to a 15-point lead over reeling, gaffe-plagued Donald Trump, according to a new McClatchy-Marist poll.

Clinton made strong gains with two constituencies crucial to a Republican victory – whites and men — while scoring important gains among fellow Democrats, the poll found.

Clinton not only went up, but Trump went down. Clinton now has a 48-33 lead, a huge turnaround from her narrow 42-39 advantage last momth.

The findings are particularly significant because the poll was taken after both political conventions ended, and as Trump engaged in a war of words with the parents of Army Capt. Humayun Khan, killed in the Iraq War 12 years ago.

Men had been the bedrock of Trump support. Last month, he was up by 14 percentage points among men; he’s now down 8. Clinton remains strong with women, as she’s up 20.

Trump collapsed almost everywhere that he’d built decent support. Even among white voters, which favored Republican White House candidates in recent elections, Trump was lagging, ahead of Clinton, but only just barely, 41-39.

Clinton wins moderates, 50-27 percent. She is far ahead with black voters, 93-2 percent, and with Latinos, 55-26 percent.

Democrats up 49-41 in the generic congressional ballot. If she were to actually win by 14 it's fair to say the House is in play.

She won't win by 14. Things will tighten before November. Unless of course Comrade trump loses his mind again.

The problem that I am reading is Comrade trump will not listen to anyone.

The writing is on the wall. If Hillary goes much over 50%, it's going to be nearly impossible for Trump to even get back into this thing. Johnson and Stein will take 10% between them, which means it will only take about 45% of the popular vote to win. If Hillary starts to move into 50 plus territory, Trump will be sitting between 35 and 40 percent, pretty much out of the ball game.

Normally I would agree with that assessment, but I just don't know at this point. The wheels are coming off the wagon for Trump and I'm not sure that those who have moved to Hillary over the past week or so can be persuaded to come back to Trump. The guy is a basket case and the more anyone looks at him, the less likely they are to vote for him.

Marist poll shows Gary Johnson and Jill Stein beating Trump among millennials

A new poll has Trump in fourth — behind Gary Johnson AND Jill Stein — with young people

The McClatchy poll shows Trump pulling just 1 in 10 votes — 9 percent — among Americans under 30 years old. Hillary Clinton is at 41 percent, while Johnson is at 23 percent and Stein is at 16 percent. Trump is basically tied with "undecided," which is at 8 percent.

The younger generation is telling you loserterians to fuck off. Time to wake up.
