Climate Change Solution that Everyone Will Hate

Go blow a goat hippie.

Well, that certainly is an incisive response. What's YOUR solution?

Not rationing. That's stupid. It encourages nothing but sitting. I'll go the part about encouraging everyone to join the fight against climate change. No one believes in man made climate change. Those who advocate for it aren't subject to it. Sure, Leonardo Decaprio gets to keep his jet and so on, what about me? How do me and my family get to be free? So our gas ration would be enough to go to work cool, but what about when I want to jump in the ol'family truckster and go to corpus? That's a few hundred miles from me so you know. How about kids who ride a school bus? that bus has to idle, that uses fuel. its just not practical. in time I feel it will be used less because something better will come along.

News Flash! Lots of people believe in man-made climate change.
Dude, it's been over a decade since the climategate emails were leaked. Why do you global warming doomsday cult members keep denying that you were duped?

It was debunked a long time ago. Fucking get over it. Doomsday was called off.

Fires in Australia and California like never before, massive floods, hurricane after hurricane -- yep, it's just business as usual. Look at the facts. But I'll bite -- you say climate change was debunked a long time ago: by whom? What's the evidence?
Yes it is business as usual. Wildfires and hurricanes are nothing new, dumbass. In fact they have been happening so regularly for so many millennia that we even have a wild fire season and a hurricane season.

That whole CAGW bullshit Al Gore and the IPCC were using to scare the shit out of gullible idiots like you was proven to be a hoax a long time ago. It was debunked by the IPCC's own emails that were published by wikileaks.

The climategate emails. Why are you in denial of the climategate emails? Is your ego too fragile to admit that you were duped by Al Gore and the global warming doomsday cult?

During World War II, when the U.S. faced a mortal threat to its very existence, the government imposed rationing -- in particular, gasoline rationing. I believe that the time has come again for gasoline rationing.

Gasoline rationing would accomplish a number of things:
  1. It would emphasize the seriousness of the situation.
  2. It would reduce the amount of greenhouse gases being released into the atmosphere.
  3. It would encourage the use of public transit.
  4. It would encourage the development of alternative forms of transportation and power sources.
  5. It would make almost everyone a participant in the fight against climate change.
I hope that you will support my proposal.
Far out! Throw me a frisbee.

The climate has always changed and will continue to do so in the future whether you like it or not. Change is inevitable. If you don't believe me go back in time and ask the dinosaurs and mammoths.

*****SMILE*****

:)

Yes, the climate has always changed. We're not in an ice age right now, are we? That's not the point. The difference is that climate change NOW is being caused by human activity. Some people don't want to admit that, because if it's true, then humans ought to do something about it. But if it's just something that "always happens" then we don't have to do a damn thing. According to the EPA, in 2016, U.S. greenhouse gas emissions totaled 6,511 million metric tons (7,177 million tons) of carbon dioxide equivalents, which equaled 81 percent of all human-caused greenhouse gases. Now, if you want to argue that Seven MILLION TONS of greenhouse gases has no effect on anything, I suggest that you prove it. Oh, and I WOULD ask the dinosaurs and mammoths -- except they're extinct.

News Flash! Lots of people believe in man-made climate change. Gasoline rationing would make everyone much more conscientious about their gas use. They'd be much less likely to just leave their car or bus idling if it wasn't necessary. And you'd still have gas to use, but you'd have to be more careful about how you did it. You wouldn't waste it.

Lots of people think it's crap. The world giving up fossil fuels is a pipe dream. No one will do it. The best way is to come up with better stuff. Look at the Tesla. The first few years they were out the only people who liked them were celebrity's. Now they are pretty common. Alchohol is big to. My neighbor makes fuel for his two stroke engines out of old doughnuts and grass clippings. He even has a moped that runs on ethonol. He did this when they lived in California. He said using gas to power a lawn mower is a waste. The tech will come, but if you force it on people it will be rejected out of hand. And you would also create a new class of criminal and victim as this rationing would create a black market for gas.

How many scientists who have studied climate change think it's crap? Name one. Name just one. But you're right as far as people giving up fossil fuels goes. They won't, if it means going back to riding horses or something. But, as I said, rationing gasoline would encourage the development of alternatives, just as you suggest. And sure, people would try to get around rationing. They'd steal it, siphon it, get it any way that they could. People did that during World War 2 also, even though it was unpatriotic. But a lot of people DIDN'T, because it was unpatriotic. And if it was presented that way, as something that we have to do in order to survive as a society, as a civilization, as a planet, I think that many people would go along with it. If they wouldn't, then we really are doomed. And deservedly so.

Please remember - Climate Change = WEATHER. Thank you.

Actually, you couldn't be more wrong. Weather and climate are related, but weather refers to short-term changes in the atmosphere in a specific area, while climate describes what the weather is like over a long period of time.

Yes we are. What fucking planet are you living on?

You're an idiot. Please don't waste my time.
You're the one who didn't know that despite Al Gore & the doomsday cult's smug predictions, the ice caps are still there. You seem to have trouble discerning Al Gore's science fiction scenarios from actual science reality.

In reality, we are still in an ice age, you fucking brainwashed idiot.

Wow, the depth of your ignorance is stunning. Climate change doesn't mean that it will never be cold again, or that the ice caps will melt (although the way things are going, maybe they will someday!). But hey, present some actual science to prove your point of view.

You do it. Like every other stupid hippy elitist hypocrite, you don't do what you say ought to be done.

For example.

You elitist left wingers always say you want higher taxes for the "rich." Yet, none of you RICH LEFTISTS ever pay more when in fact you can.

You cry about fossil fuels and idiot spoiled actual lefty college students actually call for the banning of all fossil fuels. Yet, millenials are the biggest consumers of fossil fuels in the history of the world. None of you give any of it up. To prove further how the climate change movement is a socialist plan to eradicate the middle class under the guise of "concerns for the planet," none you losers call out al gore for his ginormous carbon footprint. None you millennials called DiCaprio for renting a $300 million dollar yacht from an oil tycoon after lecturing the world about THE global warming.

We know that you won't ration shit and the only reason you are all for it is because you are really not reliant on driving or you are so wealthy that it is water off a duck's ass for you.

What we do know is the marxist movement which intends to usher in the NEW FEUDALISM want to eradicate the middle class. We get that the new Feudalism is the same as the old Feudalism which means the rationing of everything to the controlled.

You are nothing more than a hypocritical elitist who does nothing for the planet. A water carrier for the globalists who despise the notion that anyone from the serf class could ever think they could reach a status that is only meant for royalty of some kind.

Loser.

Your complete ignorance of science is astounding. Here on Earth, where we are currently experiencing an ice age, ostriches do NOT bury their heads in the sand, because they would fucking suffocate, you scientifically illiterate imbecile!

Hmmm...maybe you really are on a different planet, figuratively speaking of course :cuckoo:

You know nothing about me. Where did I call for higher taxes for the rich? You think I'm so wealthy that rationing would be water off a duck's ass for me?? I can't even begin to tell you how ridiculous that is. You apparently consider me a rich leftist. Ha! When I retired to basically live on Social Security, I was making a little over $11 an hour. Does that sound rich to you? I'm not calling for the banning of fossil fuels; I'm advocating rationing of fossil fuels. That's different. And Al Gore and Leonard DiCaprio would be subject to gas rationing, too. Now, just to be clear, as it was during World War 2, there were different levels of rationing. People would be entitled to different amounts of gasoline, depending on what they did. Presumably, it would be similar today. So Al Gore and Leonard DiCaprio might be entitled to more than you. Damn! But you claim that "I'm a hypocritical elitist who does nothing for the planet" -- based on what evidence?

The ostrich reference was metaphorical, moron. But please present your evidence for the current Ice Age, since this is the first that I've heard of it.
