Not the middle of nowhere
This should go over like a lead balloon with the public. Reality can really suck. :gay: :gay:

Power Grid Operators Warn Of Potential Electricity Shortages Amid Transition To Clean Energy | ZeroHedge

Offuckingcourse shortages are inevitable...the DUMS in charge.

God....November can't come soon enough. I'll be in here election night dropping nukes on the progressives while watching CNN's Don LeMon sitting on a gigantic bumpy cucumber.:deal:
The "clean energy" transition is a red herring to distract us as they choke off our power supplies & use energy as a point of control. The whole green new deal BS is about forcing an economic change to socialism, not saving the planet

WTF is this ZeroHedge???

Things are not working as planned in the green economy as power grids are becoming unstable by the retirement of fossil fuel power plants with unstable renewables. The transition isn't as smooth as climate change modelers once suggested as grid stability worsens, and millions of Americans could be subjected to blackouts this summer as cooling demand soars during heatwaves as grids won't have enough power to meet demand.

Never saw a "climate change modeler" designing power grid systems. Actually, a good number of the leading activists in labcoats for "Earth has a fever" hair on fire fear porn -- have STATED that "renewables are not the answer to Global Warming".

We will get the best energy production that the finest Progressive failures in Congress can design.

:dev3:
WInd.solar, and gawd help us --- BATTERIES the TRUE environmental nightmare that dont produce a WATT of grid energy -- are NOT alternatives. They are LIMITED SUPPLEMENTS. And we are ALREADY reaching the tipping point where using SUPPLEMENTS as phony alternatives are gonna kill people and this country.

Socialism? You're out of touch with reality.

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) issued a peak hour usage warning last week due to slightly warmer temps than usual....WTF is it going to be like this summer?

It was thought that "Wheels" had ERCOT under control after "the big freeze" but now they are having trouble with a slightly warm day....In TX?

Fuckin' wind mill/solar tycoons down there are making bank....And they are not dems.

The whole mess is nothing but a Texas-sized story of political kickbacks, grant graft, poor management, and double dealing....They can't blame the dems for it either, it's all on Wheels and his cronies.

I love to find the link to the first sentence but it's been buried so deep I can't find it anymore....Maybe someone else will have better luck.

But but but… battery backup.

What percentage of wind and solar have battery backup and how long can they run on batteries?

Here’s some simple math.

Let’s say you have 1000 kWh of renewable generating capacity that can generate electricity for half of the time.

How much extra capacity and battery storage would you need to provide 1000 kWh all of the time?

Answer: you would need 2000 kWh of renewable generating capacity and 1000 kWh of battery storage to base load 1000 kWh 100% of the time.

It's really not scalable at all to drive us to battery armaggedon. The lifetime under full charge and discharge once a DAY gives them MAYBE a 12 year life.

Both solar and wind achieve yearly averages of about 33% of the RATED power generation of the field. Solar because of weather and 16 hours a day too dark to matter. Wind -- fergitabout it. Can be NEAR ZERO FOR DAYS.. So for solar -- you actually need 200% battery back-up on the RATED field generation TO GET the rated generation all day every day. AND 300% of RATED power to do that and CHARGE the batteries.

In America battery back ups aren't about keeping the lights on at night. They are about buying off the grid when prices are low and selling back onto the grid during peak demand. The more energy they can short on the grid, the more money they can make during the peak demands because there will be more of them. The lower 47 (leaving texas out of the math) grid really is a fascinating system of grid credits. Regardless of who you get your electrons from, you can redeem credits from whoever you buy them from that puts power into the grid. So if your current provider is charging $X for ten Mw's, you can pay them with 10 Mw credits purchased from someone on the other side of the country for $X-2 if you can find them. It is harder as time goes by to get those big discounts though which is part of the reason you see so much investment in alternative energy. If Amazon can build a solar farm in the middle of nowhere that can carry an average cost of $1/2X for 10Mw they can still redeem those credits for energy used at one of its warehouses whether the price would otherwise be $X or $X+3 dollars

Not a single unicorn chasing AGW bozo knows anything about this........suckers. They fail to comprehend the ruse. But laughable as well.....they think its about caring about climate change :iyfyus.jpg:
