Christmas Eve at a loose end

We are spending xmas day at my daughters tomorrow so there is nothing to do. No rushing around or last minute crises..
I cant remember a more relaxed time ever.
Happy holidays to ny many colonial friends.

Why do you regard that Vietnamese beggar worthy of repeated mention ?

How many of you hide out in that Welsh squat?

And blessings upon you for that blessing.

I have come to believe Christmas should not be a long stress filled event as it is for so many people. We put up just enough decorations this year for it to feel Christmassy but they can be taken down and put away in minutes. We kept gift giving simple, meaningful, economical and demanded our loved ones do the same which they say they did. We will miss having our kids here this year but I will enjoy preparing a traditional Christmas meal for us and my Aunt Betty--it's her very favorite meal. I do go all out for that as we don't know whether any Christmas will be our last with her--she's 98 years old and we think the last living member of her generation in the family.

So yes, it has been pleasant and enjoyable doing a few little extra things but not stressing out on all the things I used to think were important and turns out they aren't important at all and nobody really misses them.

So remembering Jesus is the Reason for the Season and it is okay to acknowledge that whether you are Christian or not, I wish a great stress free Merry Christmas to all my friends and friendimies here at USMB with blessings for many more to come.

I wish I had learned this years ago. In my 30s and 40s I used to rush around like I was manic. Spent xmas day snoozing in front of the fire, exhausted.
What a waste of ime.

It would be ironic if a false flag event happened on Christmas Eve. As a child I always thought has Christmas Eve the most peaceful night of the year.

So in somewhat an ironic twist, the local supermarket thru out a truckload of pies and cake.........which the entire herd is now eating.......it's occurred to me that i've now taken 'let 'em eat cake' to an entirely new level...... 🐷 🐷 🐷 🐷 🐷 ~S~
