Investments help drive economy and new jobs, Investment fees, trading fees, you spend some of that interest and investment earnings, later you spend the accumulation & pass it on, it gets taxed and gov't spends it on stimulating economy etc.
If you'd cut back to 5 cats instead of having 10 then you'd save enough to buy a new couch that doesn't smell like kitty litter box.
