This is bullshit. Pedophiles are not old queers who can't attract men any more. They start their careers going after children. Many place themselves in positions of authority over their young victims - and most are straight men. And they resist attempts at rehabilitation to turn them to normal behaviour. Their risk of re-offending is very high.

Every pedophile charged has multiple victims going back years. It's difficult to get convictions because many of the victims end up as sex trade workers and/or drug addicts so that when they go to court, well look who their acusers are: drug adicts and hookers. Many of them are highly respected, like Jerry Sandusky. He was a great coach and very successful so his coworkers, who had caught him in the act, didn't turn him in or remove him from working with the young men he abused. The boys didn't turn him in because they wanted to be football players for Penn State.

There was a highly successful figure skating coach in the US who victimized his young female skaters, offering to promote the careers of his victims. When one young girl made accusations, the parents of his other skaters jumped to his defense because he could take their daughters to a national championship. They vilified his accuser saying that SHE came on to him. Everyone at the rink knew it was going on but this coach was a star-maker. Two of the parents who defended this asshole ended up suing him for abusing their daughters. He was never charged but his coaching license was revoked. When last heard from, he was a photographer who was "discovering" young models.

It's worse for the girls. Young girls are often accused of being flirty and encouraging the men - young Lolitas. In Canada we had two high profile child sexual abuse cases: the Christian Brothers at Mount Cashel Orphanage, and the guards at Granville Farm.

The boys who left Mount Cashel Orphanage made numerous complaints to authorities over the years, but eventually the men were charged and all were sent to jail. The guards at Grandville Farms said that the girls offered to trade sexual favours for "treats" and other privileges. All of the girls were underaged, many were victims of child sexual abuse. The guards knew of their backgrounds and their responsibilities to care for these children. Several of the guards were charged but none were convicted. Happens all of the time.

Where is your outrage for the thousands of little girls who are subject to abuse? Should we blame all straight men for the actions of a handful of perverts? Should we suggest that all straight men will molest little girls once they get too old to attract women? Having worked in psychiatry for 25 years, I would say the percentage is about equal male and female victims. Male victims do not disclose as readily as female victims do. And I believe that accounts for the difference in the numbers. Males often don't even disclose when asked point blank, but will later.

Being married does not mean one is not a pedophile. Jerry Sandusky was married. I find it hard to believe his wife stood by him, though. Women who are married to men who are having sex with males often get infections caused by intestinal bacteria. That's usually their first clue.
