This OP is precisely the sort of “fake news” Orwellian propaganda that Americans have been trained to think only is used by Communists or socialist or fascist states. But here it is in Breitbart, and here on USMessage Board it is being regurgitated, without a word of criticism. The article in Breitbart is based on no evidence whatever, just hearsay spread by unnamed Falun Gong religious fanatics. It is nothing but slanderous yellow journalism.

Reminds me of what we were told during the Vietnam War: the ghastly Vietcong were torturing American prisoners by burning them with cigarettes ... as we were dropping hundreds of thousands of tons of napalm on villages throughout the country!

The spreading of this totally vacuous and unsubstantiated tale, whether to try to make points against Democrats supposedly “soft on China,” or to excite passions for a real war, will only backfire — much like the Democrats’ accusations that Trump is a spy for an expansionist Russia.

The spreaders of such slanders discredit themselves and our country. The rest of the world will note how in comparison to the American “yellow press” the CCP-controlled press actually seems sober and mature.

Respectfully, what you read on the internet about Chinese culture being “barbarian” is often just a “bizarro world” projection of the West’s own barbarism. When China fought the West to stop the Opium trade, even then it was China that was called “barbarian.” Their ancient culture is different, much less individualistic, but hardly “barbarian.” Of course China’s political system is also much more authoritarian and bureaucratic than our own — maybe that is what you find repulsive? China does not argue that the West should adopt its system, however. It knows full well that is impossible.

By what rational measure would what China has done to the people of Hong Kong, Tienanmen Square, theTibetan Buddhists, the Uhgers, the Falun Gong, the victims of Mao's cultural revolution (an estimated 20-46 million people killed) and victims of China's work camps i.e. political prisoners (harvesting the organs, etc. of it's victims), NOT be considered "barbaric" to say the very least?

I guess we could add in the victims of those who were murdered in the aftermath of the Corona virus
but we will probably never get a true picture of the slaughter there.

Barbaric doesn't seem to begin to tell the story or is at all adequate to characterize the Chinese nation since Mao took over.

I talked about China's ancient culture, and also about food, and about Western hypocrisy. In the quote of mine you excerpt I discussed none of the issues you mention, only in passing mentioning China's authoritarian and bureaucratic political system, which most Westerners understandably find repulsive. THIS THREAD concerns what I have called typical "yellow journalism," propaganda that screams that the present Communist Party of China was BURNING virus sufferers ALIVE. I fully expect that THAT too will be added in future to the list of Chinese horrors presented as damning evidence against the CCP as a whole.
