You might be shocked at what they did just to prepare to build that thing.China doesn’t give a fart about the impact of the dam project on the lives of anyone in the region of flooding. Somewhere between doing something just because it’s technologically feasible and taking so many years to even begin (in order to pre-assess local impacts), there is likely a reasonable compromise.
That's China's "technology." Give it a push and it will fall right over.I forgot!!
I had previously read a bit about it after I saw a piece on (if memory serves) 60 Minutes. Very little done by the Chinese Communist dictators surprises me.You might be shocked at what they did just to prepare to build that thing.
The Three Gorges was a site of great natural beauty (on a boating tour it seemed like the walls of the gorges went straight up endlessly). It was also the location of many centuries-old resting places and mummies, not to mention the area where millions of people had their homes. The communist Chinese government destroyed all of that without regard.I had previously read a bit about it after I saw a piece on (if memory serves) 60 Minutes. China has the advantage of no EPA and no wild crazy zero growth libs standing in the way of whatever the communist dictatorship wants to do

Yeah. Simple mathematical calculation.Perhaps. Or perhaps they realized the millions of city-dwellers who would benefit from the power generated outweighed the cost to the thousands of farmers who would be displaced.
You could not be more ignorant.Actually, what they have is the advantage of not having conservatives demand that all the money go to the rich to buy mansions and dressage horses.
Yeah. Simple mathematical calculation.
That’s the way they roll. Fuck the people who are displaced or otherwise hurt by their brain trust’s actions.
And you applaud such shit.
You epitomize just another one of the many many reasons we can’t trust libtards.
You’re an absolute piece of shit.I'm sure those people are compensated for their losses, and frankly, given that China has moved something like 400 million people from peasantry to the middle class in the last 40 years, it's to be applauded.
America, we are slowly dismantling our middle class, and you repukes pat the rich on the back for doing it.
Mods can we get a mojo for Cocoa Puffs emojiActually, what they have is the advantage of not having conservatives demand that all the money go to the rich to buy mansions and dressage horses.
^^^ Kiss ass apologist for the CCP. Disgraceful.I'm sure those people are compensated for their losses, and frankly, given that China has moved something like 400 million people from peasantry to the middle class in the last 40 years, it's to be applauded.
America, we are slowly dismantling our middle class, and you repukes pat the rich on the back for doing it.
You’re an absolute piece of shit.
And I place zero value on anything you claim to be “sure” about.
Clearly you have still never been there yourself.Hey, guy, ugly truths hurt, don't they?
The Chinese do a much better job taking care of their people than we do taking care of ours.
...
Well, that would explain all your crying.Hey, guy, ugly truths hurt, don't they?
all the money go to the rich to buy mansions and dressage horses
I’ve made a pretty good living selling bricks and tweed jackets to those rich people.
More mansions and horses is a GREAT thing.
Would you like to have what the Germans had under the Nazis? It's a great thing if we have crumbling bridges and kids who go to bed at night hungry.
