Western leaders will tout that we take a more "collaborative approach" with China.

America had better crack the whip with allies and lead where needed. Too many large companies have supported the harm against America while Chinas benefitted.

All the trillions spent by the U.S. in building military bases around the world, surrounding both Russia and China, waging war, destroying countries, occupying Iraq and Afghanistan — none of it could protect us from a simple virus! Nor will more trillions wasted on the military industrial complex protect us from the next virus, or ecological disaster, or self-created de-industrialization, or economic depression.

And yet the geniuses here seem to want war with China! How about with Russia too? Shall we reinforce our presence in Syria and Iraq and Afghanistan? Bomb Iran? Invade Venezuela and Cuba and Nicaragua? And those allies of ours in Europe and Asia ... if they want to trade with China and Russia, shall we forbid it? Forbid Nordstream2? Forbid our own companies from selling to and trading with the biggest market in the world?

God, the simple-minded self-destructive stupidity of some of my fellow Americans ... is astounding.

Apparantly the CDC never took it seriously.

Hopefully now....they will.

Of course most do not consider this a biological attack.....at least yet. Lots more info will come out eventually.

Irregardless of whether or not that is the case.....the fact is it could be and even if not.....there may be one lurking over the horizon.

I'm thinking it was Congress that didn't take the possibility of a biological attack seriously enough. I suspect that Bush did and Trump does, but Obama not so much. I wonder how many of us are aware of this:

“The Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate assesses foreign scientific researchers who transport undeclared and undocumented biological materials into the United States in their personal carry-on and/or checked luggage almost certainly present a US biosecurity risk,” reads the report. “The WMDD makes this assessment with high confidence based on liaison reporting with direct access.”

I think they are covering it up for now. As one high official aka the defense secretary said recently 'this is not the time for recriminations'

In other words after we have beaten the virus then we will deal with China....I think the U.K. knows also....hence their recent outburst of anger directed at China.
