The education lead for Biden praises China for its education system where students are respectful to teachers and the state, but it's not like they have a choice. In fact, about 60% of rural children quit school before high school, since children in major cities are preferred.

Just like Bernie Sanders praised Castro for his reading program, which was nothing short of forced readings in propaganda to convert the masses to Marxism.

So ?What is the problem? She is not endorsing Communism or totalitarianism She is recognizing the the strength and efficacy of a strong teacher-government presence in education. We currently have publicly funded and run education in this country that those on the right seek to undermine. She wants to build on and strengthen that relationship. While there is much that we can criticize China for, we would be wise to learn from them in areas where they do things well.

She made the argument in her 2017 book, titled, "Empowered Educators: How High-Performing Systems Shape Teaching Quality Around the World," in which she also commended China for greatly increasing its public funding of education.

"Teachers in China are revered as elders, role models, and those whom parents entrust to shape the future of their children," she wrote. "In the Tao traditions of ritual, the phrase 'heaven-earth-sovereign-parent-teacher' is repeated and becomes ingrained in how people see themselves holistically governed and supported."

Yes it is true that Xi has declared that China's systems of higher education must "serve the Communist Party in its management of the country," and "adherence to the Party's leadership is essential to the development of higher education in the country." That does not mean that Hammond believes that the US education system must serve the Democratic party. Get a grip and get over the histrionics'

but for folks in the education racket it never hurts to say nice things about china
