Bullshit. The worst injury you can get from a flashbang if it is in contact with your skin or clothing when the actual "bang occurs. I suffered two injuries in 11 years of having them thrown at me. On one occasion, a special operations troop threw a flashbang out of a building window at me while I was seated in an open topped vehicle. It hit me in the thigh and exploded, causing about an inch long burn on the top of my thigh, through my pants. One of my friends had one go off on her back, resulting in the same type of wound. It hurt like hell for a few days, but we always said that if we left training and were not bleeding, you didn't have any fun.Wrong. I heard a story in the Air Force about a guy who stole one and put it under his buddy's blanket one night. Blew all the meat off the guy's feet.
The other time, I was hit in the right shoulder on my back by the actual metal body, which left a nice bruise, like getting hit with a baseball.
BTW, that friend married one of the SEALs we were training at another time.
