Check out Obama's new mansion in Hawaii

I suspect not. Which is why DOGE is a joke. It doesn’t actually care about waste fraud and abuse. It’s just pretext.
Oh, yeah. You're definitely pissed you lost your USAID money.

Say, did you hear Obama bought another waterfront house? He still wants you to change your lifestyle to save the planet, though. He can't. He's just too important.

I think USAID helped a lot more people than manned space flight. Manned space flight helps Musk’s wallet, so it stays.

Youve given a website from NASA claiming they’re doing such important work. Thats exactly what I expect NASA to do.

The difference is I looked at the list of “accomplishments” and it’s pretty underwhelming. A bunch of them are just advancements that only benefit people in space. Like, I’m happy they know how to deal with bone loss in space, but people on earth don’t deal with bone loss from microgravity.

I’m not sure you actually looked at the list. If that’s the best they can do, it seems pretty wasteful.

But they do have to deal with bone loss.

Yes, microgravity bone loss studies on astronauts and in rodent models in space can help develop strategies and treatments for bone loss on Earth, including osteoporosis and age-related bone loss.

Here's how:

  • Accelerated Model for Studying Bone Loss:
Microgravity induces accelerated bone loss, providing a unique environment to study the mechanisms of bone loss and test potential treatments in a more condensed timeframe.
  • Developing Countermeasures:
Research in space can lead to the development of countermeasures to prevent or mitigate bone loss, which can then be applied to people on Earth, including those with age-related bone loss or osteoporosis.
  • Understanding Bone Physiology:
Studying bone cells and bone remodeling in microgravity can provide insights into how gravity affects bone health and how bone cells respond to changes in mechanical loading, which can improve our understanding of bone physiology and bone diseases.
  • Testing Novel Therapies:
The ISS National Lab, for example, has been used to test novel osteoporosis therapies that prevent further bone loss and build new bone, demonstrating the robustness of these therapies in extreme bone loss conditions.
  • Mice in Space Studies:
Scientists use mice in space to study how bone and muscle mass are affected by microgravity, and these studies can provide valuable insights into how to prevent or treat bone and muscle loss in humans, both in space and on Earth.

    Understanding the Impact of Gravity:
By studying the effects of microgravity on bones, scientists can gain a better understanding of how gravity affects bone formation and bone density, which can inform treatments for osteoporosis and other bone-related conditions.

    Preventing Bone Loss in Space:
The research can help develop strategies to prevent or mitigate bone loss in astronauts during long-duration space missions, which can also be applied to people on Earth who experience bone loss due to immobility or other factors

I’d cut manned space fight. It’s super costly and not very productive. It’s half the budget and doesn’t seem to actually produce much useful science.

The best thing NASA has done in the last decade is James Webb. Hands down.

Did you miss the whole "rescue the stranded astronauts" yesterday, Marener? That was just ONE of the things Musk does with his vast wealth! Duh?
We paid him to do that, moron. Taxpayer funding is the only reason SpaceX exists.

100 billion dollars to build the International Space Station. Of course, the United States pays the freight to keep it going each year. Taking money from the taxpayer's wallet. We are not going to stop going to space. We need to get there cheaper.

Why do we need to go into space and more importantly, why do taxpayers need to fund $100 billion field trips to low earth orbit?

Good for Obama. Like the Clintons and BIdens he has become a real Public Service Tycoon, becoming extremely wealthy by taking elective office.

That's the difference between B. Hussein O and Trump. Trump was already tremendously wealthy before he ran for public office.
Marxist leaders get wealthy off the taxpayer. Without exception.
