Yes, it is giving in. At least in most instances it is not safe and/or they should always do so in front of plexiglass where possible. In other instances, one must have the appropriate amount of security. The Secret Service wasn't able to prevent Trump from being shot in the ear, this is not an easy situation to defend against even if they were incompetent.

Despite how Charlie Kirk was killed, this has nothing to do with the method of the crime, but rather the mentality of the scumbag that killed him. Whenever Charlie would go to the universities to speak, he always had a microphone there for opponents to speak their opinion on the topics he was there to discuss. He was polite, never insulting, didn't shut them up and just peacefully exchanged views, yet the left would often just spew hatred. That's it. Hatred.
