I had a Taurus 41mag that was really nice but the "body fit" with the holster and size just did not feel right. So I went to a S&W 38 but I found the grip to be to small. So today I switched to a S&W 357 mag with a 4 inch barrel.

Which means I will be going to a shoulder holster instead of the belt. I got two speed loaders as well. I don't like the nylon holsters, never have. Anyone ever try the magnetic holster? I'm looking at one in leather because leather well oiled is smooth.

For those that do carry with a magnetic holder do you find an issue going "strapless"?

Thanks.

The S&W grip is too small for my hand too, so I went to a Charter Arms .357.

Don't bother with holsters.

westwall what do you know about those magnetic holsters?

Sad to say I have zero experience with them. I'm a Galco user.
I have an Ames with the spring steel in the hammer flap that pops open with just a touch for my 38. But in the shoulder holster they have a velcro strap. That's two hand movements so that's way slow. Guess I can check Youtube. Thanks.

Three Inch K-Frames: The Glock 19 of Revolvers - LuckyGunner.com Lounge

I got a 357. A Smith and Wesson "K" frame ; with a 3" barrel. The frame is a size smaller than the Model 19 - 357.

I got a leather holster for it and it fits fine. Gonna deer hunt with it this year...... If I get off to do so. Vacations at my work place got canceled for June.

Shadow 355

This is cheaper

The one thing I would be mostly concerned with is possible damage to the firearm's finish, the other is how much pull is needed to release it. While I prefer leather I'll use some nylon OWB or ankle holsters for CC but only because the sidearms I carry are Eastern European surplus and most leather holsters for them are custom made.

You do the Mak? Good guns, solid choice.

I have a CZ52 which I don't carry any more, a CZ82 and a Polish P64. The P64 will fit in my oversized jeans watch pocket so don't need a holster for that one. Love them all but with the P64 I had to replace the #24 main spring with a #19 so my trigger finger wouldn't look like Popeye's arm.......... Makes the pull much easier without making the single action sloppy.

They are very dependable and very durable side arms. The Russians build damn good guns.

Wait...you mean that after 20+ years of daily carrying, the finish isn't supposed to be half-worn-off on my Model 29? :D

If it is a semiautomatic pistol but was not designed by John Browning, I am not willing to trust my life to it.

Oh you mean the Belgium made firearms? :eusa_whistle: Personally my favorite is the Italian made Beretta. :D

Believe it or not some of the best made, most reliable sidearms were made by the Soviets and Soviet Pact countries. They're like the AKs in that you can drop em in the mud, stomp down on them pick em up and start firing.
