38 Caliber Ammo

I have always been good about hearing protection on any range I have been on or operated, be it pistol, rifle, machine gun, tanks, mortar, artillery or explosive ordinance/demolition. I always wore hearing protection. Now that I do personal range practice, just for maintaining skills, I use good quality earplugs, along with headphones. If I have to talk to someone, the headphones come up, but the earplugs stay in. It helps. Think of it like belt and suspenders.
Get electronic earphones. You can talk while at the bang bang place.

I have heard that, about noise cancellation headphone, but never tried any.
Do you use them? Were they worth the money for range shooting or hunting?

Did anybody here ever watch Paul Harrell on Youtibe? he was EXCELLENT but sadly died last year, very sad because he seemed like a genuine expert who was also a good communicator.

I don't use noise cancelling in the sense of like Bose

but actual designed for shooting.

These work, I can hear a voice and so on, but I never actually tried them in active mode when shooting, I'm sure they work fine. I only used them three times and each time I had the electronics off and just used them as normal sound suppressing ear protection.

I use them during competitions. The wife uses them for range time (I like not talking during range time...thats ME TIME!). They work surprisingly great.

Let me tell you actual noise cancelling phones like these from Bose are stunning

I use these to listen to music and they are great on a plane.

When you activate the cancel mode it is astonishing, 99% of the outside noise vanishes.

If I put them on and stand in my garage with the air conditioning handler running I can hear it, when I activate the cancel mode it is almost dead silence, very very very impressive.

I use them when there's like outside noise of chain saws and stuff in this area, I just put them on, no music just noise cancel mode and it's silent, quite amazing and highly recommended.

With a loud blast like a gun, you'd hear that, they wouldn't suppress that as well as the range phones.

think about it, if you have a handgun in 357 which is a high pressure round it will easily shoot a 38 special +p without breaking a sweat

I have a SW 357 and a 38 airweight

for practice just winchester white box but for the home +p

When I go shooting I use ear protection, proper shooting "headphones". Now in a home situation where one must shoot, that's going to damage ears surely? In a confined space, these guns are going to be so loud they'll damage the hearing of me, family and pet dogs.
lol. This is the current anti-gunner argument making the internet rounds these days.

You're lying, and it's obvious you have no idea what you're talking about.
Yep. I also caught that. These people are using anti-gunner templates and filling in the blanks. This thing about blowing yer ears out without protection in home defense is the latest one circulating right now.

right because police always have Bose noise cancelling headphones on

Ahh OK let me dig....

Hmm that seems to be enhanced pressure 38 Special, more powerful than 38 Special.

I'm asking about "old 38" amm0, what a 38 gun would have used before 38 Special was invented.
You are asking about .38 Smith & Wesson. That's the original .38 cal loading, and yes you can still find it from time to time.

It is? I have had this discussion in the past about whether or not to use a rifle for home defense vs. a pistol or shotgun.
Its also an argument for making cans legal without a stamp.

Yes, asking a question abouts guns these days is to be an "anti gunner" it seems, whatever that is.

No, it's the way you ask. Everyone knows you don't own a gun.

You're a dickhead as usual.

Ask me to photograph each gun with something next to the gun, like a coffee cup or a pair of pliers and I will, go on fuck face.

Stupid trumpanzee twat.

Post pictures of them with a little hand written sign that says 'for you westwall' and the date.
