Chairman of Local Indiana Democratic Party Resigns Amid Fake Signature Scandal


The chairman of the St. Joseph County Democratic Party has resigned amid a scandal that reveals hundreds of signatures on petitions for Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton to appear on the state's 2008 primary ballot were faked.

Butch Morgan announced his resignation in a statement Monday, saying, "After consulting with the Indiana Democratic State Party, I am stepping down as chairman of the St. Joseph County Democratic Party and as chairman of the Second District Democratic Party, effective today."
