Absolutely and how is that information shared or accessed, what are the implications for innocent people, such as a mother that puts a child up for adoption with regrets, but does not want to be found and contacted by that child for any or whatever reason, years later. It is one of the rabbit hole questions of medical ethics, discussed from time to time.

Should you have control to how your DNA is used, added or accessed by databases and by whom? Is it a privacy issue? There are a lot of ways to look at it, depending on point of view.
