CBS Bans Talarico From Late Night, Tries to Muzzle Colbert..Doesnt work

It actually applies to everyone

It’s just prior admins like that of Obama and xiden didn’t enforce it and allowed folks like Colbert to violate it and spread misinformation and propaganda
The exemption applied to late night talk as far back as Jay Leno.

The Trump administration now says it only applies to whomever they say.

Just another way that this government is corruptly attacking the first amendment.

Once again, having an administration that actually follows the law is causing leftists to really struggle.

what exemption? There is no exemption in the law for late night talk shows

The Trump admin simply follows the law.

Prior admins simply ignored the law, and allowed Colbert and others to poison the minds of viewers

Youre wrong there pal. Ask anyone.

The Fairness Doctrine was eliminated in 1987. The FCC’s equal time rule (47 U.S.C. § 315) only applies to legally qualified candidates appearing on broadcast stations. It explicitly exempts bona fide newscasts, news interviews, documentaries, and on-the-spot news events.

Colbert and The View and a whole bunch are exempted because they are not bona fide newscasts.
Wow. Talk ass-backward

I thought CBS was a privately owned company?

Why is it my business what shows they put on the air or what guests they have on the show?

Isn't Colbert their employee?
It's our business because it's a broadcast network, regulated by the FCC and they owe the public balance, which they are not delivering.
The same with ABC.

You obviously didn’t read the law because it lists the exemptions.
I did read the law, hence why I know what the exemptions are, and nowhere does it say late night talk show host are exempt.

But if you think it does, quote it for us

(1)
bona fide newscast,
(2)
bona fide news interview,
(3)
bona fide news documentary (if the appearance of the candidate is incidental to the presentation of the subject or subjects covered by the news documentary), or
(4)
on-the-spot coverage of bona fide news events (including but not limited to political conventions and activities incidental thereto),

The FCC ruled 20 years ago that late night talk shows are newscasts.

I'll Bite, which exemption does the Colbert show fall into?

link.....and whatever a prior admin did, isn't binding on the next admin. 20 years ago, Jay Leno might of been a newscaster,...the content of the shows have change drastically since then

The FCC is not an Art 3 Court, it's in fact part of the executive branch

Which means Trump can use the FCC to punish his political enemies.

And that’s exactly what you wannabe fascists are doing.

Asked and answered.

Don’t be a lazy piece of shit. You’ll always be a piece of shit but you don’t have to be lazy.

Sure, if they break the law.

No, I don't want people to break the law.

Have I really kicked your ass that hard that it's morphed you into nothing more than an angry elf? You used to contribute at least something to the board. Now it's just bile and spittle. Sad,

You deserve to be treated like a piece of shit. There’s no point trying to have a conversation with someone like you.

Move on.

He only cares about punishing his enemies.
Sure if they break the law.

That's literally what he was elected to do, as President.....enforce federal law.

I get that bothers you, but my advice would be, to stop breaking the law

Well, 'someone like you" should put me on iggie if you can't handle being called out on the bullshit you spew here.

Considering the number of times he’s tried and failed to prosecute his enemies, it’s got nothing to do with enforcing the law and everything to do with using government to attack people he doesn’t like.

Actual advice in this current political environment is to not engage in constitutionally protected speech the current ruling authoritarians wouldn’t like.

That’s what it’s like to live in the this country now.
