But I'd wager that it's not so much that I'm seeing the glass half full, as I am recognizing the glass is heading toward being totally shattered.

I know it's fanciful, but I genuinely think we're witnessing a once in a hundred years political paradigm shift.

The parties are realigning completely, and the Dems in their current manifestation will either transform into something virtually unrecognizable (hell, to many of us former Democrats they already have!), or be swept away by the winds of history entirely.

Only time will tell I suppose.

I'm sure one thing we can agree on:

We both hope I'm right. ;)

I think they're just positioning for more power. Whoever loses will still back the winner. They got nowhere else to go and politics is all that matters to dimocrap scum. They got nothing else. Very few of them can do anything useful, so if they quit the party..... What do they do??

The few I know of out here on the plateau are crop/livestock farmers. My new neighbors bought acreage that borders the west side of my back field. They are afraid of pres. Trump as they have been brainwashed into believing the Trump administrations main goal is to collapse the social security system. Their value system is near identical to my value system of Conservatism/Libertarianism.

The Misses has told me that "us country folks need to stick/work together, watch out for one another(I agree with her)". Yet she understands the need for INDIVIDUAL PRIVACY, property ownership, firearm ownership, creature ownership & the necessity of borders. Both the Misses & hubby are actually Libertarians/borderline Conservatives & don't even know it!!! Tragically my new neighbors appear to be the exception rather than the rule when it comes to self professed Democrats of today. I'd say the moderate Democrats @ best MIGHT make up 4% of the so called modern Democrat party.

I fully agree with you Rhody, AOC & her millennial nutso statist left marxinazi kooks will topple any remaining vestiges of the old time Democrat party & it's values. The new always replaces the old like just the way it works, tragically.
