Biden has consistently liked cars, consistenly supported renewables and EVs. There was not just some one company or person in the industry that he was catering to.
He was also very pro-union, which is why he had a problem with Tesla's union busting stance and didn't invite them to administration's EV events. I think that was a mistake given Tesla's prominent role and market share, but at least it's clear where Biden was coming from.
Thats very different from Trump getting pretty much bought out by Musk, completely turning around his rhetoric about EVs, putting him in power of what gov spends on and now doing a presser at the White House to sell Tesla cars.
